As I felt the cold breath my body began to shake. "That noise... that noise isn't human.." I thought to myself. As I stood there I felt as though time had stopped. Had I taken my last breath? Was I going to die alone here in this cold dark building halfway across the world? My blood ran cold and I swallowed the build up of saliva that had formed in my mouth. I closed my eyes and decided I must turn around and face my fate head on..

I turned swiftly taking a step back as I did. Darkness there and nothing more. Did I imagine that? Could it have been the wind? I squinted and peered into the long dark corridor. That was weird, I could have sworn something was there. Perhaps I was just paranoid. After that event I decided it may be best for me to leave and I swiftly made an exit. I was lucky that night.

Once I got back to the gate it was now opened, how bizarre. I walked back to the street I had been on before I turned and continued walking until I found a familiar crossroads. I paused momentarily and gazed up at the sky. The stars were incredible. A black canvas glazed with stardust. I felt safe. I carried on the road and made my way back home. I placed my books on the table and crawled into bed. In the morning I would try to make sense of what had happened, but at that moment the tiredness and sense of comfort took over and I soon drifted into a peaceful sleep.
