I spent a large portion of my time with Dio throughout those coming days, still unsure if he would kill me at the beginning. As the weeks passed he told me stories of his past, his family, his true self. I learned that what the world seems is not what it is. Monsters exist in our world. Not just in books and fiction. Dio, this vampire on another mans body.., the body of his former brother.., this man I slowly yet surely fell for. I never expected my life to be like this. Was all this just a crazy dream? Not anymore. It felt more real than ever. This man, this creature felt love for me and all for a reason unknown to me. Our time together felt truly special. Time. Something we learned could both make or break our odd relationship.

Dio hadn't been shy about his feelings or his past, but he had a secret that was yet to be revealed. He gathered a meeting in his mansion. There was a cluster of unusual characters. Dio never introduced me to his friends, or perhaps they were followers? I wasn't sure. He always let me sit atop the broken pillar and listen to their conversations. While they were discussing one day I heard a familiar name "Joestar". This was the name of the mans body of whom Dios now taken control of. An elderly woman dressed in tribe-like clothing warned him of crusaders coming to avenge their ancestors and prolong their bloodline. He didn't seem worried. After a short conversation he dismissed his meeting.

As the closing of the doors echoed through the mansion Dio jumped up to the pillar where I was sat and perched alongside me. "Dio?" I asked. He tilted his head at me. "What is a stand? I heard them say the word but you've never mentioned it". He stared into the distance and answered "A stand is complicated. They are a life energy attached to a user. They can have different abilities, far greater than any human, but only other stand users can see anothers stand. They are of good use in battle". I asked Dio if he had a stand, to which he replied yes. I asked if it was possible for a user to have one and not know, to which he said "Are you curious if you carry that ability?". I was. He told me that I did not possess a stand, but there was a way he could grant me one but in doing so it may cause death. "Dio..? Are you going into battle against the Joestars ?" I asked. He nodded saying "Sometimes in life you have a destiny, for which you will do anything to achieve. Whether I were to fight or not, they would still come.." he tilted my chin upward and looked me in the eyes "..and either way, I would protect the one I love." I smiled at him as he did the same, bearing his fang. "I'd fight for you, I'd be willing to die for you, I know I don't have a stand but I'd take the chance and risk my life for you." I said leaning on him. He gave a small low chuckle. "I wouldn't ask you to do that for me. You're too important" he said grabbing me and jumping from the pillar.

He placed me on my feet on the ground. "You should go home before it gets too late" he said grabbing my hand. "I'm not staying tonight?" I asked disappointed. "Not tonight" he said raising my hand to his lips, "it's dinnertime" he then kissed my hand and walked into the shadows. I began my walk home. Dio usually let me stay with him unless he was feeding. He said that I a lady like me shouldn't have to see such horrid things. I suppose seeing such cannibalism would be a shock to the system, but either way I was under his spell, completely in trance by his charisma and good looks. As I reached home and put my head on the pillow I heard the wind screech in torment as the pots outside began to clink and fall over. A force was coming, and I feared for Dios safety after we had grown so close. Danger was coming. An end was nearing and we didn't even know it.
