I was laying there in bliss, fast asleep. Lost in my dreams. Pure comfort and warmth. I gently stretched and turned. The suns rays were blasting in on top of me. I was crudely awoken. "That damn curtain.." I said, rubbing my eyes and beginning to get up from the bed. I must have forgotten to close it because it was dark when I arrived home so therefore I wouldn't have noticed. Oh well. Another early start to a day. I yawned and poured myself some water. I sipped it gently as I tried to wake myself up as best I could. I washed myself and changed and proceeded to gather my things and leave for the day.
The professors had arranged a tour for me to see the pyramids today. As they day progressed I learned about hieroglyphics and the Egyptian Gods and the culture of the people. It was all quite intriguing. The plagues were an interesting discussion. Egypt had a lot of interesting things about it and I was happy to be studying more about it.
I returned home and began to write more pages for my studies. I had been taking small notes throughout the day so I felt quite prepared and determined to ace my work. After I had completed about 6 pages it was beginning to get dark so I lit a lamp and was ready to continue. As I reached across the table my pen had fallen bellow my seat. I got up and knelt down to retrieve it when I noticed a folded piece of paper on the floor. Was it one of mine? Was it an old page I had forgotten about? I slowly peeled open the paper. It was a note. "Dear Reader, I believe you entered my home last night and I wish for you to return tonight once it is dark. I was not a welcoming host and I wish to fix that problem. Come for dinner." How did this note get into my home?! Who put it there? 2I don't understand what's going on.." I thought. I decided the only way I would get answers is if I returned to the place I had been last night. It was possible id be in danger but I had to find out. The writer in me needed answers.
I waited for the darkness to progress and then gathered my stuff once more and then left. I tried to retrace my steps from the walk the night before as I had found the building through sheer luck after all. After about 20 minutes I was outside the large gate. It was open. Was I making a mistake? Should I have stayed home? I took a deep breath and walked through the gate and found myself at the front door which had also been left open. There was no turning back now, not while I was so close to finding out answers. I walked inside and began to follow the steps of the previous night. As I stood in the corridor I felt that same cold presence. Looming in darkness. "Hello? It's me.. you left me a note? Or at least I think it was you.. I'm sorry for the intrusion" I said into the black emptiness. After a moment of silence I went to take another step, when an echo replied "Welcome to dinner" followed by a small chuckle. I was nervous. Suddenly the front door banged shut in the distance. I felt fear. As I took a step back I tripped on something. I put my hand down to try to figure out what it was. It was cold and wet, I saw a flicker of light and suddenly a line of lanterns were lighting on the pillars stretching through the corridor. I looked down to see what I saw holding. "Blood... This is blood!" I let out a shriek as I realised I was holding a dismembered arm. Its cold fingers staring back at me.
I began to hear footsteps. "Why did I come? Why was I so stupid? How didn't I realize the danger after last night?" I thought, panicked. The footsteps echoed and came closer. I felt a cold hand on my shoulder. "Wryyyyyyyyy" It whispered. "P-Please d-don't hurt me..." I stuttered. "Hm? Hurt you? You misunderstand.. I just want my dinner" A man said. My eyes widened as I felt the arm disappear from my grasp. From what I could hear from behind he.. it.. this thing was eating that arm. I sat there helpless on the floor still paralysed with fear. I heard something hit the floor as he sighed "Are you just going to sit there? I can smell your fear, perhaps you need help". I felt my body get dragged up and suddenly I was standing there quivering. He began to walk. I couldn't help but cry from the fear. I felt a tear stream down my left eye. I closed my eye and felt a cold presence in front of me. "Wryyyyyyyy". "Who are you?!" I said opening my eyes. Standing in front of me was a tall man with blond hair in dark clothes. He was strangely handsome. He looked at me as if he were trying to read my mind. His ear had there moles in a line, I heard it was considered a sign of luck in some cultures. He smirked and flashed a fangs as blood began to trickle down his chin. He licked it up. He wasn't injured so it was not his blood. What I heard must have been right, he must have been eating that arm.. "Who are you?" I asked again. He lowered his eyebrows to a serious stare. This was no mere man. He was some unholy creature. He began to slowly step towards me. He then moved a strand of my hair with his long fingers and brought his face closer and whispered in my ear quietly "Dio".
