Chapter 20 (The Final Chapter)

>>> 2 months Later...

Collins P.O.V.

The tour is finally over. I still haven't mentioned anything about Hannah and I's conversation to anyone, even though it presses on my mind every second of everyday. Sure, everyone wonders why Hannah just up and left. That day she and I had made one final deal. Melissa was to tell everyone she was homesick, and she wanted to take a break from any social media at all. Nevertheless, she meant any social contact from anyone. I'm the only one of her friends besides Melissa that she actually messages about her medical updates. Seems all is well with Hannah for now, and I pray everyday that she becomes a survivor of that malicious disease. 

Liam's P.O.V.

Although I wonder why Hannah left I think it was for all of our own good. I was hoping we could've patched things up a little better at least, but I see how she wanted everything to play out now. Collins has been "out" of it a bit lately which makes me worry if she's keeping something from me.

>>> 6 months Later...

Collins P.O.V.

Here lately it seems Hannah has hit a downward spiral and I'm really worried. It's crazy how close we've become these last few months, and its terrifying me these might be Hannah's last few months. Liam's been catching on to me acting down, and I'm stressed that he thinks somethings wrong with our relationship. 

>>> 8 months Later...

Liam's P.O.V.

The anger towards my ex-girlfriend fully consumes me. I can't believe she never told me she was battling Leukemia. She passed away last night, and I completely broke down when Melissa called me to tell me. Collins literally held me all last night, while I cried. I'm thankful Collins understood how hard it was for me to deal with Hannah's passing, although Collins and Hannah loathed one another. Collins is even willing to attend Hannah's funeral this Sunday. 

>>> That Sunday...

Collins P.O.V.

The pain is nearly unbearable. Seeing a close friend pass yet again hurts more than anything. Besides the pain, I'm also dealing with the guilt part. Although Hannah wished for Liam never to know about her cancer, seeing Liam this way is not something I wished to see. I couldn't hold back my tears even though I was suppose to despise Hannah to the rest of the group. 

When Liam grabbed me to hug me, I knew what I had to do, just not here, not now. 

 >>> Later that Night...

Collins P.O.V.

Liam and I were finally alone. We'd all been crying all day. I'm sure the crying wasn't going to be over. 

Liam sat down on his leather couch in his newly rented apartment. I sat down next to him, but at a distance as I planned to probably ruin our relationship. Tears were brewing in my eyes as I spoke,"Liam, I've hurt you so many times before, and I'm about to do it again." 

When Liam noticed my bloodshot eyes and intent glare he scooted closer. "Collins, tell me what's going on," he said in panic. 

"I was friends with Hannah," I started. Liam's eyes grew wider. "I knew about her Leukemia." 

I was expecting Liam to say something, but he said absolutely nothing. Liam and I sat staring at each other for a good awkward minute until he finally nearly whispered. 

"How could you?" 

"You hurt me when you left me the night of our Graduation, now you've betrayed me." Liam hissed. I've seen pain in his eyes many times before, but this time there was so much... anger. 

"Is that why you've been acting so weird all these past months?" Liam questioned. I just nodded. 

Tears poured from my eyes as I watched him clasp his hands over his eyes then retract them. When he faced me again I knew what he was saying without him even saying a word. 

I grabbed his hand and kissed it one last time. I stood up, and began to leave. 

Just as I was about to close the door Liam called for me from his seat on the couch. "Collins! Wait!" 

I turned around quickly in hopes of forgiveness. Liam smashed my hopes down quickly, as well as my heart. 

"Please leave the engagement ring." 

I was trembling in sadness. I walked over to the love of my life and placed the ring in his hands. 

"I love you Liam," was the last words I spoke, then left his apartment. 

Hey Guys! It's literally been a year since I've last posted in this book. (I'm so sorry btw) I'm also sorry for the amount of transitioning P.O.V.'s in the chapter. I wanted you guys to see what it all lead up to. This is the 'Final Chapter' of  'Over You'. There will be an Epilogue though! I hope you guys have enjoyed both of my books!
