Chapter VIII

-Pan POV-

While the three of us were talking about the classes and our experiences here, someone knocked on the door.

I got up and opened it, it was Carlos.

It has been an hour since Pan went to the museum to look for Mal's spell book.

"I hope she is okay," I said.

"She will be, she knows how to take care of herself" Nico tried to convince me. A while later, Pan appeared, and to our surprise, she had the book. I took it and started looking for something that has to do with

a love spell. After a long time, we prepared a whole mixture according to the ingredients that the book said.

"Oh no ..." I said.

"Oh no?" Nico said.

"Here it says we need a tear of human sadness" I said with disappointment.

"Let's cut some onions"my brother seemed convinced with that idea.

"No, it won't work, it has to be a tear of human sadness," said Pan. We were discussing what to do until someone opened the kitchen door. It was Evie, and she looked worried about seeing us in the kitchen late at night.

"Umm, guys, can I know what you are doing here?" Evie said.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Oh, I came to eat something before going to bed, an apple for example ... Oh! What are you cooking, a cake?"

"No, we are making cookies, you know, for tomorrow if we are hungry,"I replied trying to convince her.

"I think they need something else.

"Nonono!" We said but it was late, She had already tried the cookie dough.

"Um, how are you feeling? What do you think is missing?" I said. Nico approached Evie and smiled at her. Evie looked at Nico confused and went to the refrigerator. She took out a small jar with chocolate chips.

"They need chocolate chips! It's the richest thing to add to the cookies" She grabbed a handful and put them in the dough." Guys, why are you looking at me like that? Did your parents never make cookies for you? The three of us looked at her with a bit of sadness. "Oh, it's very sad, I know that my mother didn't do it with me either but ... " A tear came out of Evie's eye. I reached and took away the tear with my finger and put it in the mixture without her noticing. Pan and Nico said good night and Evie left the kitchen.
