Play Date

It has been 1 month since the intrusion. The gate was fixed and even more secure. It would take a semi truck to knock it down. Not going for a thin friendly gate any more. I shouldn't have to worry about that again.

That morning I woke up with a smile on my face. Mathias is coming over with his dog. A play date with our fur babies. Tink hears me move and stretches out. He heads over to his door and goes out to relieve himself. I do the same but in my bathroom.

I take a nice hot shower to wake me up in the morning. Heading to my closet I start searching for the perfect outfit. Not too pretty and not too sporty. I decided to wear some dark grey yoga pants with a Jack Skeleton t-shirt. He should be here around 12. It is half past 11 when I texted him the visiters code to the gate. I still have a hard time trusting people so I am not giving him the actual code.

I get a call from the front gate and see that is Mathias. I buzzed him and his puppy in. I am glad that I spent the extra money and getting a camera on a gate.

I see his big truck pull up close to the house. A big smile on his handsome face. He jumps out and came over to give me a big bear hug.

"Hello beautiful. Are you ready for our babies to miggle?" He ask wriggling his eyebrows. This man is so corny.

I chuckle and nodded. "For sure. Let's see if these two can be forever friends." I wink at him.

He lets Tiny out from the back of the truck. Her coat looked like dark chocolate with tiny marshmallows on it. She was absolutely gorgeous. Tiny had to be almost as bug as Tink. Which was saying something.

Tiny comes around and starts sniffing around me. And let me tell you... she left no place on me she did not sniff. When she was finally satisfied, I walked over to Mathias and stood by her until he felt she was confortable. We watched as she sauntered up to the door. Sniffing all around it.

Tink is going ballistic inside the house. It's not that he wants to get outside to attack anyone. He just wants to get outside and play. Ever since we were banned from the dog park, he has been super bored. Mathias and I chuckle. Mathias puts Tiny back in the back of the truck so Tink can get a feel for him next. Tink bolts out the house straight at Mathias. He doesn't even flinch. Impressive. Tink did a more thorough inspection of Mathias. He took the poor mans wallet and smelled thru it. This dog sure knows how to embarrass his mama. I smack my forehead and give a pleading look at Mathias. He just chuckled and let Tink do his thing. When he was satisfied he walked over to me a waited. Surprisingly, Tiny was very quiet in the truck. She had her eyes zeroed on Tink. Mathias opened the door and Tiny hopped out. Tiny and Tink meet half way and started smelling each other. With their tails wagging they take off towards the back yard.

"I guess they like each other." Mathias sniggered.

"Let's catch up to them." I start walking towards the back porch. We can see Tink and Tiny playing in the obstacle course I installed for Tink. Boy needs his exercise.

"This is a really nice set up. I have a couple of things in the back yard but nothing like this." He looks around in awe.

"I need to keep him in shape. My poor baby gets bored easily. The whins and groans he was making when they were installing it was down right comical." I laugh at the memory.

"I bet." He looks over at me and looks into my eyes. "Are you sure you are okay?"

I know he is talking about that night. I nod my head. "Positive. They might try something when they get out but I will be prepared. I know this is far from over and I damn sure am not moving. I refuse." Crossing my arms over my chest I glare over the fence. This is my home and I am not leaving.

"I hear you loud and clear. Like I told you that night." He places his large hands over mine. "I like you. I only met you a month ago and I truly do care for you. I was worried sick until I saw your contagious smile when I pulled up." This boy wears his heart on his sleeve and I do not mind it.

"I like you too. I am sorry I worried you. If anything like this ever happens again, you'll be one of the first I will call. I promise." I give a light squeeze on his hand. His lips curve up just a bit but not enough to reach his eyes.

Our fur babies played for a good 4 hours. Mathias and I got hungry so I made us a chicken salad sandwich with some chips. Something simple. We sat and talk about random things until the dogs came back exhausted. Tiny laid beside Mathias feet and Tink curled up on the edge of the porch in the sun light. My baby likes to sun bath. Such a spoil brat.

"Would you like to come inside? I think the babies want to rest a tad bit more." I get up to walk towards the back door while dusting my pants off.

"I would love to. Maybe you can show me your mini library you were telling me about." He stood and stretched out. His shirt rose just a tad bit, just enough for me to see more of his glorious body. Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? I fan myself as me trails behind me.

"I made too much jambalaya the other night if that's okay for dinner?"

"Anything you make is always going to be delicious to me."

"Ok smooth talker. Library or food first?"

"Hmmmm..." he puts his hand on his chin and strokes his beard. "Library first. I am dying to see your collection."

"Well then follow me. It's just up the stairs." We walk up to the office/library and I explain the pictures on the wall as we go. "When the mood strikes me I like to paint. Anything that comes to mind." We walk into the room and start telling him the how I organized the books if he wanted to see anything specific.

We were talk and skimming thru books until I heard a loud roar. I looked over to Mathias and laughed.

"I think my monster stomach just told me to feed it." He bellowed out.

"Well good thing I put the left over in the crock pot to heat up. It should be perfect now. I hope you like spice." I warned him.

"I love it."

We eat out dinner in peace and he tells me over and over how much he loved the meal. He gives me butterflies when he looks at me. My body hums when he is close. I never felt this way with Peter. I guess this is what true feelings is like.

We hear the pitter patter of paws on the floor and look up to see two exhausted dogs. They lapped up all the water in the bowl and crashed on the livingroom floor.

"Looks like today was a success." He whispered to me. Tiny was so tired that he had to pick her up and walk her to the truck. She let out a small whine for Tink. Tink strolled towards her and nudged her neck when she was laying in the truck. She feel back asleep and Tink went inside the house.

"Wow. I whole heartily agree. They are smitten with eachother. It's so cute." I place both my hands on my cheeks and smile. I am really glad the pups hit it off. I can see more playdates in the future.

"We should do this more often. Maybe next time we can go to my place for them to play." Mathias said. His body leaning against his large truck. I was trying to respond when I was just memorized by they way his muscles flexed under his shirt. Sweet baby Jesus this man makes me feel hot.

"Penny?... Penny?"

"Huh?" Damn it. Did he see me checking him out?

He grins. "You can check me out. I am not embarressed." My face has to be bright red now.

I cough to try to get back to the subject we were on. "Sure. We can go to your place next." I hide my face behind my dark curly hair. He walks over to me to push my hair behind my ear. I feel a kiss on my forehead. My heart is leaping out of my chest right now.

"I'll talk to you later beautiful. Have a evening." We hug for a while and he takes off at his gate.

Tonight was a good night. Thing are finally looking up.
