Chapter IX

Chaeyoung's POV

At last, I finally finished it.

I'm looking at the painting and I can't help but smile.

"Hey, Chaeng. Who is she? Do you have a new girlfriend now and you didn't tell me?" Tzuyu asked while faking a sob.

"Yah! Don't be so dramatic and no she's not my girlfriend. She's my cousin. Nayeonie. Isn't her smile cute?" I said smiling that made Tzuyu nod her head in agreement.

"Yeah she's cute. But I haven't met her before. Everyone will definitely think she's your girl." She looked at the painting and chuckled.

"Well, it's not my intention. I decided to paint Nayeonie's face since I have always admired her smile. Everytime I feel down she made me smile by making faces back when we were younger. Her smile made me smile too. I've always want to see her happy cause when she is, I am too." Tzuyu patted my back and give me a thumbs up.

"You did well. I'm sure this will be displayed and be the center of attraction on the schools exhibit. Your unnie's face will be popular." She said praising my work.

Realization hit me...

I haven't asked unnie's permission.

Crap!

"Tzu, uhh can you do me a favor and help me tidy things up? I need to ask unnie's permission about the painting. I haven't told her about this yet and just draw her without thinking much." I panicked while picking up my brushes and paints.

"Woah, easy there. I'll clean the mess here. You go meet your unnie. You have to pass that tomorrow, right?" I looked at Tzuyu as she said it and gave her a hug and a thank you.

" Better treat me tomorrow, Chaeng. Now go!" She said and we chuckled. I waved to her and headed to the school's gate.

I texted mom to ask for Nayeonie's number then called Nayeonie if I can meet her.

"Sure cub. I'll be at my office. Just come by, I cant leave the building as of the moment. Unnie's a bit busy." She said.

"Okay, unnie. I'll be there. I just really need to ask something." I said as I held onto the painting tighter.

"Alright. Take care, cub." I hang up after that and hurriedly went out of school to her office.

I'm infront of Im airlines and man was it huge. I asked the guards as to where the CEO's office was and from there I found myself standing in front of the biggest door that said...

I knocked on the door and slowly opened it.

Nayeonie saw me and she quickly stand on her chair and embrace me.
She asked me to sit on the couch in front of her table.

"So, what does my cub wants to say? It must be really important since you really came all the way here just to say it." She said chuckling.

"Uhh..unnie, you see.. I uhh have this project and I need to pass it tomorrow. It's about happiness." I looked at her and she's patiently waiting for me to continue.

"I kinda draw you.." I said as I hand her my painting. I dont know if she'll be happy or mad about it so I closed my eyes.

"It's beautiful, Chaeng." I opened my eyes to see her smiling from ear to ear.

"I'm happy you draw me. And I look really good here." She said as she went to her table and get her phone.

"Here, take a picture of me with it, cub." She handed me her phone and posed while showing the painting on her lap.

Once I was done I handed her phone back and smiled at her.

"I'm glad you liked it, unnie. So uhh can I pass it tomorrow? I mean, would it be okay to you?" She just smiled and nodded.

"Really, unnie? Uhh I mean because if I pass that as my project, it'll be displayed on the school's exhibit be y the end of the month." I asked her again worried that she might say no.

"Really? My face will be on an exhibit?" I nodded. "Okay, pass it. Wow I'll be famous." She said that made me chuckle.

"Unnie, you're already famous." I said and laugh.

"Oh right. But still, it's different if it's my cub's work." She said as she pinched my cheek.

"Thank you, unnie." She smiled and hugged me.

After chatting for a while, I decided to leave so Nayeonie can do her work. As I was walking out of the building, I saw Jeongyeon unnie.

"Hey, unnie!" I shouted to get her attention. U saw her stiffened as she looked back to me and gave me a nervous smile.

"H-hey Chaeng. What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Oh I went to see my cousin." I answered. "How about you, unnie?"

"Uhh.. I'll just fetch someone." I saw her blushed so I decided to tease her.

"Girlfriend?" I said wiggling my eyebrows. I saw her blush darkened So i laughed.

"Alright, unnie. I won't ask more. Go fetch your girl. See you at school. Bye bye." I said as I pushed her towards the building.

I wonder who's the girl Jeongyeon unnie will fetch. I never knew she had a girlfriend. Well, we haven't talked much so, nevermind. At least she's got someone who loves and accepts her.

9:00pm

"Where do you think Chaeyoung was heading to, unnie? She was in a hurry and... What was that painting she was holding?"

"Yah! Youve been asking me that since  we went home. For the nth time, I don't know. So just sleep now,

Penguin."
