Chapter XVI

Seoul International Airport

A week later

CHAEYOUNG

"Chaeyoung-ah!"

Hearing that very familiar voice made me realize that, indeed, I'm back. I'm home. 

A place I left behind to pursue this career and also to forget about her.

Now that I'm back, I hope this place will be nicer to me.

Most of all, I hope I won't bump into her.

"Yah! you sneaky cub! a month huh?!" an angry squirrel together with a raging bunny was the first to welcome me.

I just scratched my head not knowing how to answer the both of them.

"You really have a lot of explaining to do, Chaeng." 

I was startled when Tzuyu spoke and put her arm around my shoulders.

From what I remembered, I only told Nayeonie about me coming back here.

I even use my English name in my paintings and even asked Mr. Snow to hide my identity to the media to protect my privacy. One thing I realized after being mentored by Mr. Snow is that in order to focus on my craft I needed to deal with media in a very least possible way. 

"We should wait 'til your exhibit, Chae. By the time the exhibit starts, I'll introduce you to the media properly."

Oh well, I guess these three continued to contact each other even after I left.

"Alright, let's go to my place then." 

I feel like I needed to make it up for not telling them about my plans back then. I guess, I really owe them an explanation.

"Right, c'mon." Nayeonie said.

"Uhhh... excuse me?" I hear Somi's voice and that had me turn around to see Somi.

Sh*t! I totally forgot I came here with her. I'm too occupied with these people.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, Somi-ah." I said and apologized to Somi. She just shrugged it off and gave me a reassuring pat on my back.

My friends seemed to be in great confusion so I introduced Somi to them.

"Guys, this is Somi. She's my room mate back in Canada. Also, she's been mentored by Mr. Snow together with me. You'll see her works in the exhibit too"

I told them and I can see Sana unnie looking at me with that teasing look on her face.

Before she can utter a word, I already cleared things up.

"Somi's just a friend unnie, don't give me that look. 

I saw Somi chuckled.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but this kid right here and myself can't be what you're thinking since she's st---" before Somi could finish her words I already covered her mouth and gave her a stern look.

"Right, she and I can never be like what you're thinking, unnie. It's like dating your sister and it's incest." I said and looked at Somi to see her laughing so much.

"Okay, okay. We got it now, Chaeng. Sana stop teasing Chaeyoung already. Let's go to her place. they must be tired.

I heard Tzuyu said.

"But babe, I was jus-----"

Hold up....

Did I heard it correctly?!

and what Babe?!

"Hold on, what babe?! are you two....?"

I looked back and forth between Tzuyu and Sana unnie and was shocked when Sana clung to my best friend like a koala.

"But you two are like Tom and Jerry!" I still can't believe this. 

"You would've known it if you would just pick up my calls, you dummy."

"I do pick up those calls Tzu!" I said defending myself.

"You do but everytime I try to bring a topic about Sana you'll say you needed to go EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!"

Guilty.

I really am. I don't want to hear something about Sana unnie back then because of the thought that she's close to Mina and we might brought a topic of my ex again. I really don't want to talk about her that's why I kept avoiding the topic.

"Are you ready to go now?"

I heard a voice said and when I turned around I saw the most unexpected person.

"Jeongyeon unnie?!"
