He Can't Remember

chapter 12

As Skye drove along the seemingly deserted roads, I explained all that's happened in the last few weeks. From me leaving Adam, to the crash, to meeting the boys in the hospital and how they had found out about me and Adam.

Kale and Skye sat quietly through it all, not once pausing me to ask a question or say something. I finished telling them everything as we entered the hospital. Kale didn't ask very many questions, just to elaborate on why I went out with Adam. But Skye never said a word. He kinda just looked at me with sad eyes, like he was jealous that he couldn't have helped me.

We walked up to Liam's room and I paused them, to look into the window. Niall and Harry were in the room along with a sleeping Liam. I quietly opened the door, motioning Skye and Kale to follow. I quietly stepped in Niall and Harry not hearing me as they continued to talk.

" We really shouldn't talk about this, while Liam still has no idea who he is." Niall said. Skye moved to speak, but I stopped him, silently telling them with my eyes for him and Kale to get out. Skye started to object but finally followed Kale to stand outside.

Harry still not noticing us replied" I know. But I can never get you alone to talk about it. I think I love her, but you never give me the chance to talk to her."

I realized he was talking about me from a discussion a week ago and I didn't really want to intrude so I turn around to seem as if I was returning. But the next words stop me in my tracks.

" Harry, I try to stop you cause of what she's already been through. And.." Niall stops for a second." And I'm in love with Katalina."

Niall and Harry. I used to dream of stuff like this, never truly believing it was going to happen. And now. Now, i don';t know what to do. I stood there a minute, my hand on the knob trying to piece together what was happening. I snap out of it realizing they still don't know I'm here.  I open the door and close it trying to make a little noise, so they know I'm here, but keep peaceful Liam asleep.

" Hey guys" I say trying to keep from what I heard.

They both stand up. Niall's cheeks slightly pink and Harry trying not to meet my eyes.

" Hi. Where've you been? It's been a good hour an a half. We were starting to worry."Niall said. His voice was slightly shaky, like he was scared that I heard. Which I did, but I wasn't going to tell him that.

" Sorry. It's a long story. Where's Louis and Zayn?"I ask

" They went looking for you. I'll tell them your here." Harry goes to the other side of the room and makes a call. Probably to Lou.

" So where have you been?" Niall said sitting down, patting the seat Harry had been sitting in.

 I sit down." I ended up being chased by some crazy fans and- Oh! wait one second." I say remembering Skye and Kale still stood outside. I jump up and go to the door. Opening it I only see Skye standing leaning against the wall. No Kale.

" Where's Kale?" I say standing in the door frame.

" He said he had to go home for something. He said it was nice meeting you thought." Skye walked over to me. Turning around I walked back into the room, with him following me.

When Niall saw Skye, his eyes seemed kinda weird. They held jealousy and some rage, but also some fear. He stood up like he had for me but his stance was less loving. He looked like he was ready to punch something kinda. Protective seems like a good word.

"Who's this?" His voice wasn't much better. It sounded kinda threatening. Where the hell was this coming from?

"I'm Skye." He noticed Niall's body language as well and was matching it. Harry walked up and stood next to Niall. He was confused but he sensed something with Niall. He was less threatening than Niall though.
