As of Friday October 11th 2019, I have gone 1 month without cutting!! 2 days after the last time I cut, I actually got Baptised so I have tried to change. I have been doing good so far I think. I want to help some of you by telling y'all my coping skills. Here is a list of a few of them

1. Listen to music! Music for me is a safe place. When I listen to music in school I can not only focus better but I also feel like I am safe.

2. Sit in a quiet place and relax! Relaxation is a key point in letting out stress. I have mental breakdowns/panic attacks pretty often. What i do is if im at school ask to be excused. If I'm at home, I sit on my bed, close my eyes, and inhale and exhale then repeat for a little bit. It's pretty helpful

3. Talk about it! I have a councilor and honestly getting to tell someone what I have gone through and getting to let out the emotions I have built up in me is really good every once in a while.  I hate when someone notices my cuts but it's not always as bad as our minds make it seem. My teacher knows about it and she is really awesome. I thought if my teachers ever found out I would be judged but I was wrong.

4. Think about someone you care about and want to get better for! Trust me, it helps

5. Writing! This one is extremely helpful and has helped me so much. I like to write and, as I'm told, I'm a pretty good writer. I have a lot of emotions bottled up inside so what I do instead of cutting is put the emotions into my writing
