20. City Halls

City halls,

They've only given us shopping malls

And drones to troll our screams,

Glassy eyes stuck in an abyss of dreams.

Stray beasts,

Nurtured by this earthen feast

Scavengers hovering over what to give,

Living amongst life but fated not to live.

Dark clouds,

Hung over heads, that's allowed?

Polluted raids sweep through all in all,

Dead bray for the everlasting spring-fall.

Barren lands,

Croaks and greets the newcomer sand

Deserted desserts, mismatched,

Parentless, this dull grassy patch.

Watering holes,

Dried up, extinct like the moles

Oasis is the retelling of a fairy tale

H2O, the new form of bribe and blackmail.

Playgrounds,

Ain't kidding anymore, alcoholic lounge!

That's what's left of all, sport's a fuss

Children rendered childless by us.
