Your POV

I woke up bright and early to the sound of my annoying alarm. I sat up and checked my phone seeing a few new messages from my closest friend, (f/f). She texted me complaining about how her dad refused to get her something and ended the message with "I wish my family was like yours. They are so perfect." A small sigh escaped my lips as I stood up and began to get ready. I looked at the birds nest of hair on top of my head and admired how my hair could even manage to do that within a few hours of motionless sleeping. I quickly picked out a casual outfit for a regular day of school and began to head downstairs. Before reaching the bottom of the stairs, I stopped. I peeked my head down past the wall at the bottom of the stairs and scanned my house for people. No one was there so I took my final steps to the flat ground. I opened the refrigerator slowly and began looking through the food, or lack there of.

After eating breakfast I grabbed my backpack and got ready to leave for school. I opened the garage door, and to my surprise my father was in the garage still awake and still drunk from last night. I tried to close the door as quickly as possible, but to no avail. My dad ran at me and ran inside. "Good morning my beautiful!" He smiled and hugged me far too tightly. "Hey dad." I tried to say politely. He seemed in a good mood and the last thing I wanted to do was ruin that. "Come outside and talk to me darling." My father said with his hands holding my face. "Sorry, I can't I need to go to school. It's Monday and I think you need to go to work." After I finished what I was saying, I watched my dads smile slowly fall. "Come on, (y/n) just come talk to me!" He said, grabbing my elbow and beginning to drag me outside. His smile was back, but it was forced this time. "Dad, let go!" I said attempting to push him off. He grabbed my arm tighter and looked me dead in the eyes. "(Y/n), don't talk back to me." He tried dragging me again and I kicked him in the knee. Unfazed, he slapped me across the face leaving a bright red mark on my cheek. "Do as I say young lady!" He yelled to me. A loud scream escaped my lips as his hand hit my face again. "Leave me alone!" I screamed and kicked him again, but this time in his man part. He let go and leaned over in pain. With my few seconds of freedom I ran out the door with my backpack still on.

Tears clouded my eyes as I ran out of the house and across the street. I didn't know where I was running but I ran. As I was running, I found my self in the middle of a crowded road. Loud car noises filled my ears and to my surprise a large truck was heading straight for me. As my eyelids closed I began to accept my fate. I braced myself for impact, which was in a different form than I imagined. Instead of feeling the full force of a speeding car smash against my body, I felt a large hand grab my arm and drag me out of the way. Light flooded into my vision as I opened my eyes and looked at my savior. He was a tall man with dark hair and a nice build. His eyes were full of concern and worry. "Are you okay?" He said looking deep into my soul. I opened my mouth to say something, but all that came out was pitiful sobbing as I grabbed the stranger and cried onto him.
