Chapter 3

At Master Key's house, he and Luxe are having a very heated discussion about what happened at the restaurant earlier."Babe I understand that you're very overprotective of Drift but I think you went a bit too far with how you were treating Jonesy." Luxe says trying to reason with Key, with Cat awkwardly watching in the background."I don't care. He deserves it. I bet he only wants my brother cause his old ass can't find someone his own age that can put up with his bullshit. Drift just randomly tells me he has a new boyfriend out of nowhere so I'm gonna be a little skeptical Luxe." Master Key snaps back. Luxe sits next to him and rubs his back with her hand gently."Key I think you are just overthinking things. I understand why you're worried, I am too honestly, but Jonesy seems different. He seems very sweet and what little I saw of his and Drift's interactions seemed a million times better than what we saw with Drift and Raptor. I mean he organized a get together just for us I thought that was very nice", Luxe explains. Master Key just shakes his head."Yeah, he SEEMS sweet. You know who else SEEMED sweet. Raptor", Master Key says before getting up to pace back and forth, obviously distressed.

"Baby...", Luxe says knowing where Master key is going with this."I thought Raptor was a good guy. Me, I did. And look how THAT TURNED OUT! I am not gonna make the same mistake with Jonesy, I will keep my damn eye on him and I will make it known that hurting my brother is a death sentence", Master Key warns before storming off to his room, Luxe not wanting to stop him. She knows she won't be able to get through to him. Cat sits next to Luxe and tries to think of what to say after that outburst."Um Luxe, is everything ok with him? What did he mean by all that?" Cat asks. "Oh Key's just....overprotective that's all. It's not a big deal", Luxe says with a sigh. "But all that stuff about Raptor, what was that about what did he mean about all of that. I know Raptor was a bad boyfriend and all but how bad exactly", Cat asks before getting a worried look from Luxe."Cat I-I can't tell you that, it's not my place to atleast. Just...just don't worry about it ok", Luxe pleads with Cat before Cat reluctantly agrees not to pry any further.

At Jonesy's place, Drift is excitedly telling Ramirez how it went while Jonesy is sitting on the couch trying to collect his thoughts. "It was really great to catch up with everyone. We even saw Banshee there wasn't she one of your old squad mates Ramirez", Drift asks."Yeah she was a really good one too. But she wanted to go to headhunters squad which is understandable. How did it go with Jonesy?", Ramirez asks. "Oh I didn't ask him yet."Drift looks over at Jonesy,"Jonesy did you and my brother have a good time together?" Jonesy sitting on the couch still spaced out snaps out of it,"oh uh yeah we uh we did baby", Jonesy lies, which Drift can detect right away. Drift sits next to Jonesy and hugs onto his arm."Jonesy are you telling me the truth? You can tell me anything", Drift says concerned."Oh no babe trust me it went really well. I'm just tired from all the excitement that's all", Jonesy lies. Drift looks at him confused but takes his word for it, thinking Jonesy wouldn't lie to him."Oh ok Jonesy I just wanted to make sure", Drift says before yawning and nuzzling into Jonesy's arm."Heh, you sleepy already baby boy", Jonesy says kissing Drift on the forehead."Yeah Jonesy I think I'm gonna go to bed early tonight. I had too much fun tonight", Drift says barely being able to keep his eyes open. Jonesy hugs onto Drift and kisses him."Well go to bed baby I'm gonna hang out with the girls tonight, I'll be there soon though", Jonesy assures Drift before Drift gets up to go to their room. 

Ramirez goes over to Jonesy and sits next to him."So....how'd it really go", Ramirez asks him. Jonesy sighs and just rubs his temples with his fingers."It went horrible. The minute I met him, he was staring me down like I was some criminal or something. And then when we were having a chat together, he just kept interrogating me. And anytime I tried to explain myself to him, he wouldn't listen to me. I give him this, he's super honest, when I was about to leave he told me to my face he hated me. I have no idea what I did wrong Ramirez I just wanted to get to know the guy. My boyfriend's brother hates me and it's not fun at all", Jonesy laments."Well...I'm sure it's nothing personal. I mean, Drift's brother is probably paranoid about Drift getting into another relationship considering how bad his last one was", Ramirez tries to explain."Yeah and that's the thing. His brother sounded REALLY angry about it. Like it just makes me think. I don't think Drift was honest with me just how bad Raptor was treating him.I mean How bad was Drift's relationship with Raptor where his brother would be like that. I'm worried Ramirez I really am.", Jonesy says tapping his foot nervously."Well, I'm sure someday Drift will tell you. It's gonna take some time Jonesy", she says."Yeah but I do wanna know",Jonesy says with a sigh,"but you know what, maybe we will cross that bridge when we get there. I need to go to bed. Maybe I can just sleep all this mess off", Jonesy says before getting up to go to his room with Drift. 

Jonesy quietly enters the room and gets undressed into his boxers and tank top before slipping in the bed with Drift. Jonesy is about to put his arm around Drift when he notices he can hear sniffling and see Drift twitching a little. Jonesy sits up and sees that Drift is clearly having a nightmare. Jonesy gently shakes Drift's arm to try to wake him up. "Baby, baby wake up", Jonesy whispers before Drift springs awake and looks around the room panicked. Jonesy is a little scared at how Drift is reacting."baby are you ok", he asks before gently trying to Drift to look at him. Drift is looking at Jonesy scared before hugging onto him tight and begins to cry on his shoulder. Jonesy gently lays Drift back down with him and Drift quietly cries into his chest. Jonesy holds onto Drift tight and runs his fingers through Drift's hair, letting out gentle "shhhh's" to calm Drift down. Drift is able to calm down again and falls back asleep being nestled in Jonesy's arms. Jonesy isn't able to fall asleep so easily tho. Jonesy lying awake thinking about everything that happened that day.
