Ian's pov:
I scratched at my beard as I was looking down at the crowd of people flooding the dance floor. people were excited about this place. I started this business wanting to make it my career out of this for the rest of my life. My parent's were lawyers and I just didn't want to follow in their footsteps anymore. I had a different path I wanted to walk. I had opened two clubs in California and they did great out there, I was expanding before I realized it. I lived here in New York most of my life, so my greatest high school friends teamed up with me and said they'd open the one out in California as they had to move there for their own business.
it was great, I had it all, the mansion, the cars, the women and all the money a man could dream of, I made myself kind of legendary out here, it had been months of nonstop talk about the first club that allowed minors. I knew it wasn't common out here in this state. to many problems of stupidity that clubs didn't want to put up with it, they didn't know how to handle it, so they banned minors from the clubs.
I knew this was my shot. I could handle it, my business partners and I planned for a long time how to go about handling the concept of making it open to the public and how we handle our rules. it was amazing what we came up with. sure anyone would come with the wrist band idea, but, no one would follow it. we made sure it would last. people typically would cut the band off, dispose of it and sneak away to get drunk, unlike this band, sure it stays on your wrist, similar method to having a zip tie around your wrist, not quite easy to remove, but the secret that I came up with was, if someone were to brake it, a liquid would come out and drip around the minor's wrist and leak onto the skin, staining the skin so even if they didn't have their band on, our workers would still be able to tell if it was a minor or not. I thought it was pretty clever, along working side with the kids who invented the date rape nail polish detector, we joined and added the same liquid into the wrist bands as well. so if it were to happen, it would aluminate a bright neon green, and this place was well guarded, and the way I have the loft designed I could spot the bands from up here.
I took a drink and looked down, in came two young girls. One was a girl who had a punk rock look to her, mostly in black and had jet dark blue hair. she had piercings and tattoos. the girl next to her made me almost drop my drink on the floor. she looked way to young to be here, Jesus was she even in her teens. she was small and thin, she wore a pastel long-sleeved shirt that went down to her knees and she wore net stockings and had pastel sneakers on, her bright pastel dreadlocks lit up the place, she really stood out.
the punk girl talked to her for a bit and the pastel girl looked very uncomfortable standing around watching everything going on. tucked slightly in her sleeve was a small toy, I couldn't make out what it was but she held on to it tightly. "Jessie, come check this out." I murmured.
"Yeah, what's up boss?" he asked coming over, he was a rough looking biker guy, but he was as nice as could be, one of my most trusted men around here.
"The girl, with pastel hair. she look old enough to you?" I ask squinting my eyes to watch her better.
"Yeah, maybe older than a toddler, you sure Derick checked her ID?" Jessie asked as he shook his head with a chuckle.
"Gotta walkie on ya?" I asked looking at his belt.
"Yeah, here Ian." He kept watching as he handed it to me.
"Hey derick, you read?" I called on the walkie.
"Loud and clear boss, what's up." Derick answered.
"The young girl with the pastel hair, did you check her ID?" I asked him.
"Yeah man, said she's seventeen. something wrong boss?" he asked me, slightly concerned.
"Nope, just wondering. thanks." I said and handed the walkie back to Jessie.
"What you gonna do man?" Jessie asked.
"Observe for now." I say in a monotone voice as I watched as some shady teen boys walked over towards her and her friend. they soon walked off leaving the girl alone, she soon walked over towards the bar. I started to struggle to see visual from this angle here. I sighed and decided enough was enough. she had been sitting their for twenty minutes with no one helping her, she looked so uncomfortable. I decided to go do something about it.
"Jessie, keep watch, I'm going to the floor." I say in an unenthusiastic tone.
"You alright man?" he asks.
"Yeah I'm good." I shake my head and walk down the aluminizing stairs.
once I got to the floor, I looked around at went on. people were jumping up and down to the music, enjoying their time, it was hot as hell in this area of the club. I could hardly stand it myself. I sighed as I walked around, pushing through bodies as I made my way to the bar. the girl was still their. slouched over the counter as she scrolled through her phone and no sight of her friend that was with her when she got here. I didn't see the two boys either. that meant trouble. not good. and I wasn't going to go hunting for her either, mostly her in the bathroom with the boys and then left the party to go elsewhere.
