Ian:
I looked out the passenger window and saw Nikki sitting on the curb, I though she was picked up by her parents. I guess not, I rolled down the window.
"Nikki? Honey what are you still doing out here, where's your mom?" I asked her. She looked up at me, sadness in her eyes.
"No one picked up the phone." She said in a small voice.
"Nikki, honey, get in. I'm taking you home." I tell her reaching over and pushing the passenger door open.
"N-no, its okay-"
"Nikki, I'm not asking, now get in. It's cold and not safe." I order her, slowly losing my patience.
"O-okay..." she shyly gave in, getting up and brushing off any debris off her dress.
"Good girl." I tell her as she gets in and shuts the door. I keep my eyes on her as she puts her seatbelt on.
"I-I don't have a key to the house, so it's not like you could take me home anyways." She said in a small voice as she messed with the hem of her dress, looking down. The other hand holding her stuffed animal.
"It's ok, you can stay with me at my place. You can call your mom in the morning." I tell her as I put the car into drive and head out.
"I-I'm sorry, thank you." She tells me.
I sigh heavily, her mom should be the one apologizing, not her, well more her sister. I shook the rage that was building up inside. Until I got distracted by the soft small toy that was sitting in her lap, that she fidgeted with as I drove.
"Who's that you got?" I nod at her toy.
"O-oh, erm, it's my erm, his name is Kiwi." She giggles a little.
"Is that your stuffie, little one?" I ask. I could tell she was a little, I've seen enough of them, though most of them were fake gold diggers pretending to be littles, but I got the gist.
"Y-yes...he's my best friend." She bites her lip. I gripped the steering wheel pretty tight, I didn't like her doing that, I should be the one doing that. Stop Ian, she's not yours. I shook my head.
Most of the drive ended up being pretty quiet, I had turned on the radio, at a low volume, it was r and b so it wasn't to weird. It wasn't long till I got home, just cruising down the long gravel road. I was only six miles from the city so it was nice. Still had some land out where I lived, I liked where I lived, I didn't care much for the city but it's where the money's at.
"This is pretty out here." I hear her little voice chime, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"I like it, believe it or not but I hate the city. Lived in it my whole life I needed something away from it all, but I still work where the money's at." I tell her.
"I actually get that a lot, still live in the city, I like the lights at night but someday I think I want to live out in the country, maybe even in the mountains." She tells me with a giggle.
"You know there's bears in the mountains right?" I tease. She giggles and shakes her head.
"They're still nicer than people."
It goes quiet again as I catch her biting her lip again.
"Honey, don't do that, that not good." I tell her, holding back a growl.
"S-sorry..." she mumbles.
Just on que, I pull up to the house.
"Oh, it's pretty!" She pipes up, sitting up more looking at the house.
"Its home." I smile as I pull up to the drive way and park in front of the garage. It didn't look like it was gonna rain tonight so it should be fine.
