Chapter 2- Are you sure we have to go?Avery's POV
"Are you sure we have to go?" I asked Rose. I admit, I was nervous about the party. I'm a really closed in person, so I don't to much parties.
"Yes! It's gonna be the party of the year!" She exclaimed. Ugh, I know I have to do this for her. She's the party type, and it's my fault she never gets to go to any.
The party was in 3 hours, and we were currently out for lunch at Applebee's. We quickly finished up and paid the waiter for our meal, including the tip, since that's the nice thing to do.
We soon drove back home, and the party was now 2 hours away. We watched an episode of Once Upon A Time, we both loved that show.
One hour. Now it was time to start getting ready, even if I wasn't emotionally ready at all. I was doing this for her. If it weren't for me, she would probably be one of the most popular girls in school, but she chose to hang out with me, a nerdy loser. I was so thankful for her.
She did my makeup for me, applying some peachy lipstick, peachy eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. She did the same to herself, only with different colors.
45 minutes. Next, she curled my hair, causing it to bounce against my shoulders. She did the same to her own, just adding a signature black hat.
15 minutes. We put on her dress and shoes, and ate a snack.
Time's up. We got in her car and started driving, with her singing along to the radio, which was playing Christmas music.
We pulled up at the driveway.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so excited!" Exclaimed Rose. I wasn't excited. My eyes grew big and I gripped my seatbelt. I wasn't going anywhere for a while.
"You okay there, Ave?" Rose asked me.
"Peachy." I was surprised I even managed to get that out. I was so nervous, I could feel my lunch coming up. I was soon regretting those strawberries I ate.
"Head in the clouds, got no weight on my shoulders..." I stuttered out. Rose groaned.
"Ave, not this again." Yeah, so I kinda had this thing where I nervously sang pop songs when I got really nervous.
"I should be wiser and realize that I got..." I stuttered out again.
"Me." She said, finishing my sentence as she unclicked my seatbelt.
"You're welcome!" She said proudly. Then she got out of the car, went around to my side, opened my door and basically pulled me out.
"We are going to have so much fun!" She said. Yeah, I was going to have so much fun hiding in a corner the whole time while I other teenagers drank and grinded all over each other.
Sounds like a blast.
Yeah, I also tend to overthink too much. I'm a whole kind of mess. I also got a little bullied in school before Rose showed up in my life. Whenever people would come near me to strike, she would get in their face. I don't know what I would do without her.
Now she was dragging me to my doom.
Ah, best friends. That's the thing about them. One minute they're basically saving you, and the other minute they're basically dragging you to your doom.
Soon we were at the door, and after Rose finally let go of me, she knocked on the door.
The door flung open, and one of the golden boys opened it. His name was Jake Stone, and he had shaggy blonde hair and blue eyes that some girls melted at. Girls like Rose, but not girls like me.
He smirked at Rose, giving her a once-over and being satisfied. He recked of alcohol.
"Hey sexy." He slurred out at Rose. She basically melted right then and there. Then he noticed me, and his look immediately changed into a disgusted one.
"Who's this pathetic piece of shit?" He said, indicating me. What happened next was sort of a blur.
Rose straight out slapped him.
"You're drunk. Go take a bath." She spatted, looking very angry. That's right, call me a piece of shit and my best friend will slap the shit out of you.
"Come on, don't listen to him! Let's go have some fun!" She said, her smile returning. She pulled me inside.
It was exactly like any high school party you imagine. There was a snack table, a counter with beers, and people dancing in the middle. Well not really dancing, more like grinding on each other. There was also many couples making out in corners.
Rose loved it, though. The weird girl that she is. Some guy came up to her asking her to dance, and she looked at me for approval. I nodded me head, letting her have her fun. Her and the random guy disappeared into the crowd.
I was completely out of place. I didn't belong her at all. I just stood in the corner near the snack table. Well, I was a little hungry. I decided to eat one of the brownies.
Suddenly everything became pretty dizzy. But, I was soon starting to enjoy myself. I walked over to the drink table, and grabbed the first thing I saw, popped it open, and took a swig. I'm pretty sure it was beer, but I didn't care at the moment. I was beginning to really enjoy myself.
I went on the dance floor and soon lost myself to the music. I didn't know where Rose was, and didn't really care. All I cared about at the moment was dancing to the music.
Soon some mystery guy came and put his hands on my waist. It started off at innocent. It soon wasn't at all. I didn't even know who he was, and didn't really care.
Soon we were grinding into each other. I didn't care who was watching. I soon saw his face and realized that he was Canyon Jackson, one of the golden boys but just continued to dance with him.
He next smacked his lips onto mine, and I instantly responded, moaning into the kiss. He lifted me up, and I wrapped my legs around him.
We were one of the couples making out in the corner. I didn't even care what was happening, where Rose was, or that this was my first kiss. I just wanted to continue kissing this boy.
He lifted me up again, and we stumbled upstairs, and inside a bedroom.
We stripped each other of our clothing, but that was as far as it got, before both of us falling asleep on the bed, with me on top of his chest, and both of our hearts beating fast.
