Chapter 4- What would I do if I saw him?

I heard a car honk outside the house. Slipping my blue backpack onto my shoulder, I said bye to my dad and hurried out the door. I walked over to Rose's red car and got into the front seat.

I still couldn't get over what might have haven't the other night. So today I let my brown hair down, but only so I could hide my face in it. I didn't dare put any makeup on, where sometimes I put on some light makeup, but I knew today I might find out the truth and if it didn't turn out well, I didn't want makeup running down my face.

I didn't know if Canyon remembered what happened that night, or if he just waked up confused and alone and naked in a bed.

"Hey, we're here." Rose said, bringing me out of my thoughts. She knew how touchy I was about the subject, and knew that I didn't want to exactly talk about it.

What would I do if I saw him? Did he know that we might have done something? Did he remember anything, or was he just as confused as I am?

As Rose and I walked into the building, I started overthinking way too much. I prayed to all the gods I could think of that I wouldn't see him.

Just walk to your locker, get your stuff, and walk to class. Don't worry about it, just keep walking.

I walked up to my locker and typed in the combination quickly. Getting out my books, I was about to start heading to Math Class when someone called my name, and it wasn't Rose.

"Avery." I heard a deep voice call out. Shaking, I turned around and looked into those green emerald eyes.

"Oh, hi Canyon. Can I help you?" I said, acting completely oblivious to the fact that we were together the other night.

"Avery, don't play that card with me. We both know that something happened. But, I can give you the answers you want." He gave me a smirk.

My eyes shot up when he said that. He could actually give me the answers I needed... Maybe that way, it would stop drilling into my brain every second of the day.

"What do you want?" I sneered. If he wanted money, he could have it. My dad was loaded with money, but I didn't take advantage of it. He was in the senate of our state, so he was always busy. But, my older sister Ariel was usually around. When she wasn't out partying with her friends of course.

"I need a tutor." He told me. I had a disgusting look on my face. So, to decide if I was taken advantage of that night, I had to tutor the guy who might have taken advantage of me? Trust me, I had no problem tutoring. I just had a problem tutoring him.

"So in order to get my answers, I have to tutor you?" I asked, still disgusted.

"Meet me outside in the parking lot after school." And with that, he walked away. After I got the shocked expression off my face, I finally walked to Math Class.

"Ready to go?" Rose asked me. Closing my locker door slowly, I turned over to my best friend.

"About that...." I said feeling guilty. Rose always drove me to school and back home. Well, we usually went to her house after school, but she lived down the street, so she usually walked me home.

"Canyon's driving me." Her eyes widened as I said this. I haven't told her about the 'news' yet.

"Did you figure out what happened yet?" She asked in anticipation. I didn't know how she would react to my answer.

"No, I have to tutor him to get my 'answers'." I told her, rolling my eyes. She looked confused, then she looked angry.

"Wait, so he's making you tutor him so you can find out what happened?" I nodded my head.

"Please, don't do anything. I know it's unfair, but I'll do anything to find out what happened." I pleaded with my eyes.

"Ugh, fine." She said, and this time she rolled her eyes. I smiled, and shut my locker and slung my blue backpack over my shoulder.

Next I walked to the parking lot, where I neared the car that would finally give me some answers.
