"I think I should leave now..." Hvitserk spoke awkwardly as the pair glared towards one another. Just as he stood and began to leave, Alfild spoke.

It wasn't even words that she had planned upon saying. But something within her took over. All the words of her advisors were pushed to the very back of her brain and all that came out was a simple, "Wait."

Everyone froze.

"My Queen what are-" One of her men spoke up but she quickly silenced him with the simple raise of her hand. Hvitserk and Ivar were both confused as to what was now taking place but simply watched and waited.

"All of you leave us too." She declared.

"But my Queen-" Again, she interrupted her men with a glower.

"You will do as I say, is that understood?" She roared. All the men nodded, quickly leaving. Hvitserk was the last to leave them, looking back hesitantly as he made his way out of the room. What was she doing?

Ivar looked at the young Queen. The confusion was written plainly on his face as he looked up towards her. Once more, the pair sat in silence, Ivar still waiting for Alfild to clarify the present situation.

She sat, contemplating her words with care. If she said one thing, the two would be at war and she would be forced to kill him. If she said another, she would have to show her weakness and allow herself to lose some of her power in order to maintain peace between them. She thought about her people, about her kingdom. What good would a war between her and Ivar do? All it would do is cause her to have less warriors to take back her throne.

She looked down towards him, that harsh exterior crumbling ever so slightly. Ivar's brows furrowed as he watched her, and then a stray tear fell down her cheek. "I'm sorry." She let out in a whisper, only adding to the Prince's confusion and surprise. "I'm sorry that I couldn't trust you. I'm sorry that I let my pride dictate my actions, that my ego was too big to allow me to simply see sense. But I-" She paused, that same hesitance running through her features. The hesitance that Ivar had seen at every moment in which Alfild had contemplated admitting her feelings. A hesitance that had stopped her from ever truly allowing him to see the real her. "I-" She tried again.

The boy gulped back his own pride and his icy eyes melted into oceans once more. "I love you too." He completed her words.

The two shared a moment of silence, both looking over to eachother before Alfild stood again. She walked slowly down the steps and towards where Ivar sat. He watched, unsure what to do.

Slowly, she knelt in front of him. Her emerald eyes peered up with honesty and sincerity.

"I swear fealty to you and to your army, Ivar The Boneless." She began, her words sparking something deep within the boy. Perhaps this was what he had needed all along, and now he knew with full certainty that there was no way Lagertha could stop him now. "I swear to be loyal to you, and to treat your people as my own." With a gentle movement, he reached his hand out to hers. They both silenced for a moment, the land and the sea looking over at one another. "I love you." She whispered.

Now that the power couple have returned, prepare for the unstoppable duo to go to war with basically everyone and radiate endless amounts of BDE together. You're welcome.
