Abel looked over the garden wall as he waited for Layna to come and give him the news. It had been months since the Fae have drove attention to themselves and that was when they took in a injured human. That human was Abels Captain's best friend. He had sent Layna his best spy to find news about the human.

"Boo."  Layna's voice whispered in Abel's ear. Abel turned his golden-black hair shining in the sunlight matching with his half black and half gold colored eyes.

"Any news?" He asked hoping that it was not bad news.

"Yes. The human has been turned but as soon as I decided to come back someone caught my eye." Layna explained.

"Who is it?"

"Well, I don't know her name. I don't remember ever seeing her before. I don't know if she is recently turned or she is from another Fae clan but she seemed to know her way around."

"Fae's are only allowed to turn humans into Fae two times a year. I guess they used one already with the new Fae. I don't think they would have thought it wise to use the second time really close to the first." Abel turned back to the garden wall and studied the little flowers blooming in between the vines scaling up the wall. Layna watched Abel as he looked at the flowers, a certain fondness was in her face but it vanished when Abel spoke.

"Send me my Captain." He ordered. Normally he wouldn't send Layna on tasks like this but he was in a bit of a hurry now that the news of his Captain's best friend was different then he had hoped. Layna left without a sound like she always does.

Abel turned around from the garden wall and stood still waiting for the arrival of his Captain. Moments later his Captain arrived looking rushed and hopeful with his brown hair hanging over his head and his brown eyes looking straight ahead.

"Morning Captain." Abel said.

"Morning Your Majesty." The Captain answered while taking a low bow.

"We have news on your human friend. Well, I shouldn't say human." The Captains face light up like a thousand lights but fell when he heard the last sentence.

"What do you mean? If you don't mind me asking my lord." Abel sighed. He really didn't want to be the one to tell his Captain but he felt like it was his duty as king.

"The Fae turned her into one of them. Not only that but we assume that they have turned someone else too. Which means that they have used up all their turning days and can't turn anyone else til next year." Abel explained. If his Captain had any emotions on this news he hid it well.

"So, there's no point in trying to contact her is there?" He asked. The Queen of the Fae didn't like having people contact her newly turned Fae. Abel has learned that from experience and centuries of being in control of the vampires. Slowly Abel shook his head.

"Very well. Now if you don't mind your highness I have a new group of vampires to train for battle." The Captain said before bowing and leaving. Abel nodded even though the Captain could not see him. With a sigh, Abel walked out of the gardens and to the Council Room which held the awaiting council that King Abel had to deal with.

Layna waited patiently for the blacksmith to finish making the weapon that she needs. She had lost her recent one in a fight with a werewolf and she needed a new one in case she came across any trouble.

"Just a few more minutes ma'am." The blacksmith said.

"That's fine." Layna replied. She normally wasn't a patient person but since she was waiting for a weapon she would be patient. The plaza surrounding the territory between the Fae and the vampires was filled more than normal today. It was close to the Moon Festival so it was understandable why so many people were there.
