Abel slowed down his pace as he neared the throne room doors. It's been a long time since the Queen of Fairies demanded an audience. The last time that happened Abel had just became king. The doors pushed open as Abel pressed his hand up against them.

The Queen of Fairies was standing in the middle of the room talking to another one of the fae. They turned when they heard Abel come in. Abel nodded to the guards and they left without saying a word.

"Ah Alure it's good to see you." Abel said sitting on his throne.

"It's good to see you too Abel. This is Mary, she's come to me from another fae kingdom." The Queen put a hand on Mary's shoulder.

Everything about Mary drew Abel in from her purple-blond hair to her eyes that held curiosity. She was stunning.

"It's.... good to umm see you." Abel stuttered. The Queen cleared her throat.

"We are here to talk about Lisa. She knows the rules and yet she did not follow them. Which caused you to send a spy to our territory to get information on Lisa. I will talk to Lisa about her poor decision but, I think it's best if we set up a meeting with the two of them to make sure they follow the rules next time."

"I am sorry if Layna caused you any discomfort. But, I think a meeting could be arranged."

The Queen nodded and looked towards Mary. Mary bowed and left to wait outside. Abel watched as Mary left her purple and blonde hair glistening under the pale light. The Queen cleared her throat once again. Abel turned his head back to the Queen and smiled.

"Mary is beautiful. Where did she come from?"

"That is Fae business only. I sent Mary away because I needed a chance to talk to you alone."

Abel's face fell and he coughed.

"What about?"

The Queen looked around and leaned in close.

"He's back." She whispered before pulling back.

Abel stood up straight, his eyes turning hard. He straightened his shirt and looked away. He spoke through gritted teeth as he said, "Are you sure about this?"

"My scouts saw him in the woods on the barrier between Fae and werewolf territory. He's weak but he's back."

"Good to know."

The Queen nodded and left the room joining Mary in the corridor.

Abel sighed and walked towards the gardens. He thought to himself as he walked. Abel couldn't believe what the Queen said. He walked into the gardens and plucked a flower from its bush.

He stared at the garden wall and remembered the first time he saw him[1]. It was a sunny day and Abel was just an apprentice. He was ordering a new weapon from the blacksmith. His orange eyes staring straight at the blacksmith with disgust.

Layna coughed bringing Abel back to reality. Abel turned and smirked remembering the moment in his room when he was teasing Layna.

"So, did you like what you saw in my royal chambers?"  Abel slurred.

Layna sallowed loudly her cheeks flushing. She looked away from Abel.

"Uhh. Ummmm-" She stuttered.

Abel chuckled and turned back to the garden wall. Layna cleared her throat and said, "Sir, I was wondering what the Queen was doing here. I saw her and another Fae leave the territory."

Abel turned and faced Layna, his eyes turning hard and his face turning to stone. He stared her in the eyes not wanting to give anything away on the subject.

"It was just territory stuff. That's enough information for you."

"Sir, I'm a spy I should know these things."

"Actually, you shouldn't. Now please stop asking."

"But sir-" Layna pleaded.

"I said that's enough information!" Abel snapped a little more loudly then he would've liked.

Layna straightened her back and walked out of the garden. Abel sighed and continued to stare at the garden wall. He didn't want to seem cruel but he had to be. He couldn't risk Layna finding out about him being back. The birds cawed in the distance which made Abel remind himself of the amount of blood he was hungry for.
