You were glomped the moment you entered your homeroom class. Mei squeezed your body tight, going on about how she had missed you so much-- only to cut herself off.

She pulled away, a strange expression you didn't know how to interpret on her face.

"Have you been working out?"

'Ah, so she noticed,' you thought.

After noticing the visible abs on your belly, you had checked out the rest of your body to see if there were any more strange changes.

You were now leaner, and your muscles were more pronounced.

Not obnoxiously so, like those bodybuilders (thank goodness), but they were very visible when you flexed.

You didn't even know how you had managed to develop your muscles while you were unconscious.

Was it...because of the spider bite?

Maybe.

If so, it would sort of explain how you kept sticking to things, and why your eyesight seemed much more acute.

"Uh," You glanced down at yourself. "I guess?"

"Such fast development," Mei mused, putting a hand to her chin. "You must tell me your secret."

Your homeroom teacher cleared her throat, and you waved Mei off.

"Later, okay? I promise."

Mei pouted, but reluctantly went to her seat, and you headed to your own, all the way in the back.

Homeroom mainly consisted of your teacher handing out papers to students who had performed well in the Sport's Festival, and had caught the eyes of Pro Heroes and Agencies.

You could only imagine the list that was on Mei's paper.

School continued at normal, but it didn't feel normal. Everything was louder. More pronounced. You were incredibly tense from the overload in your senses, and it only got worse at lunch!

"You don't look so good, Y/N," Mei commented, her gaze kind of intense, as if she was trying to see right through you.

"Why 'ou thay 'at?" You said through a mouth full of food. You were starving, first of all, and you hoped that you could distract your senses if you ate.

"You're sweating and you kinda look like you're going to pass out," She pointed out. You brought a hand up to wipe your forehead, which was indeed coated in sweat.

You swallowed your bite and glanced around the lunchroom. You and Mei had a table all to yourselves, and the conversations around seemed a bit too loud for there to be any chance of someone overhearing.

Once you were certain that any exchange you two had would be private, you leaned in, lowering your voice. "Something...weird has happened to me."

Mei cocked her head and nodded, silently urging you to elaborate.

"Remember how there was a spider by my stuff? The day I left and didn't come back?" You asked. Mei squinted as she tried to recall, and you gave a small huff.

"There was a spider, and it bit me. And now...now I stick to things, and my eyesight is crazy good. And Mei," You gripped her shoulders, giving her a serious look. "I have abs."

"Everyone has abs, Y/N," she said smartly, and you resisted the urge to smack her.

"I mean I have pronounced abs. Sure, I move around from time to time, but I've never done anything that could cause abs," You explained. "I don't know how, but something in that spider's bite changed me."
