Theo's POV:
Kinsley was acting weird this morning. I could tell that something was off by how she kept fiddling with her necklace. I made my way downstairs to see who the new houseguest was. "Who might you be, young man?" I turned around to see a middle-aged man behind me. This must be the guy that Kinsley was talking about. "I'm Theo, Theo William and you are?" I say raising my right eyebrow. "I'm Jack Moore, Kinsley's dad's best friend." He says looking like he is puffing his chest. "But how can you be best friends if he is not here unless your soul is with him at the grave," I say giving him one of my mocking smirks. I hear a small gasp come from behind me and I turn around to see the beautiful but shocked Kinsley behind me. She quickly starts apologizing to the puff guy over there. "Jack, he didn't mean it, I'm sure he was joking, weren't you, Theo?" She pleads me with puppy eyes. I mean how could I say no. "Yeah of course. Sorry if I came off as rude, I just joke around a lot." I say rubbing the back of my neck and look sorry to sell the fake ass apology. "Sure buddy. It was completely a joke. As for you Kinsley, go and make me breakfast just like I always get it done." She nodded her head low and walked into the kitchen. He sits down on the sofa and switches the TV on and puts a golf show. Of course, I think, rolling my eyes. I follow to where Kinsley is and wrap my arms around her. "Need some help baby girl?" I say resting my head on top of her head. "Umm... I think Jack would prefer if I did it by myself plus you would just distract me." She says quietly. "But a little help wouldn't hurt PLUS you and I would make the perfect cooking duo," I whisper into her ear. I feel her shiver under me and as I'm about to make a comment about it, she beat me to it. "NO messing around, we need to get this done so we can make our breakfast after." "Well what about, if you are my breakfast? I bet you would taste delicious." I say licking my bottom lip and then biting it. "Omg, stop! How can you say that and not feel ashamed that there is someone on the other side of the wall?" She says covering her cute red cheeks. "Now... let's get this over with so I can eat you." I say winking at her while taking the needed ingredients out of the fridge. I hear her murmur, "Today is going to be a long day." I hearty laugh leaves my lips. "What are we making Jackie over there for breakfast?" I say pointing my thumb to the direction of the living room. "The usual, some scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and some toast." "Mhmm, the guy can surely eat a lot," I say laughing a little. "You bet he does. You should wait for how much he eats for dinner. Not even a roasted turkey can make him full." At that moment, Kinsley seemed carefree and happy joking with me. I wish it could be like this all the time. Me and her cooking breakfast together in the mornings and joking around with each other. "Theo, are you going to help or not? You kinda zoned out for a second there." She says patting me on the back. I take her hand and bring to my cheek. "Have I ever told you that you are beautiful Kinsley?" I say staring into her crystal blue eyes. "Stop being so cheesy Theo." She says rolling her eyes while smiling. "I'm being serious. You are beautifully breathtaking. Every inch of you." I slowly leaned in, every second bringing me closer to her lips. I can see her breath quicken and see her slowly close her eyes. Call me creepy or whatever but I can't close my eyes and miss every little emotion that crosses her face. "What the hell is going on here! Here I thought you were supposed to be cooking my breakfast but NO! You are here being all touchy with each other!" Jack yells at us from the entryway of the kitchen. Kinsley and I quickly get some distance between us. I look at Kinsley but she just shaking and looking at her feet as they are the most interesting thing in the world. My attention quickly goes to Jack when he calls my name. "Theo. I think that we need some eggs as there aren't enough eggs for all us, so will you do me a favor and go and buy some RIGHT NOW." "Uh yeah sure. I'll be right back, baby girl." I give an unsure look to Jack who looks like he has smoke coming from his ears and looks at my baby girl. I give her a quick peck on the forehead before heading to the door and getting Jack's keys. A little fall warm breeze greets me when I open the front door. I quickly lock the door and make my way to his car. It was a beat-up 2011 Toyota Camry with a missing headlight. I unlock the car and got in. As I'm driving towards the supermarket, I think of how lucky I am to have stayed here instead of going on the trip with my parents. I think I truly am falling for Kinsley, and I'm not sure if I want to stop myself from doing so is my last thought before I focus on driving to the supermarket.
