Hi guys! Just a quick note here that this scene is mature and contains graphic sexual situations.
As a child Miriam would sit on the floor, playing with her dolls while her brothers raced around with their action figures and she would occasionally glance up at her parents as they slow danced in the dining room. The smell of Ciulama de pui cooking, and the baritone of her mothers favorite singer, Elvis Presley, filling her ears. And she would wish to one day marry and be as happy as they were. Her father would bounce her on his knees and tell her she was the most beautiful girl in all the universe and no man would ever deserve her. She never truly believed him. She was a sick child. While her twin brother grew and thrived in the womb, she was born too small and too weak, Miri was the David to Moses's Goliath.
As she grew up she was never short an intimidating older brother, keeping any boy she had a crush on more than an arm's length away. She watched her girlfriends kiss boys in the hall at school, seeing her brothers sneak girls in and out of empty classrooms, but for Miriam, it seemed she wouldn't ever get the chance. That was, until six months before her high school graduation when she met Brandon. He was smart, and funny and had eyes like ice, and she was smitten almost immediately. He was on the soccer team and her uncle Zach was best friends with Coach Williams, so when her father met Brandon, he reluctantly approved.
For months, Miri was blissfully unaware that the boy she thought she loved was becoming more and more frustrated with her inexperience and reluctance to go all the way. At least, until she caught him having sex with her best friend Chloe a week before Prom. Not only did she lose her first boyfriend, and who she thought was the one true love of her life, she lost a girl she used to build pillow forts with in kindergarten, a girl she exchanged friendship bracelets with, the only girl she ever trusted with her secrets. She dusted herself off pretty quickly, realizing soon after, that she didn't love the silly boy, she only loved the idea of being in love. But a fear was installed in her afterwards. She hadn't really bonded with any girl since, and she sure as hell didn't date. It wasn't until five years later, at a party she wasn't supposed to be at, did she entertain the idea of getting involved with another man. It was fate, the night she met him, the grinning devil with eyes the exact shade of her emerald birthstone earrings.
The same eyes staring back at her now, only a shade or several darker. His fists were clenched, probably in apprehension, she was consumed with rage and pain and instead of running from it, she could see his acceptance of it. He welcomed it. Miri began to shake, she hadn't even felt this kind of anger when he betrayed her all those years ago. She took a step forward, trying hard to keep the fury at a simmer, but it was quickly beginning to boil over. He was just standing there. He didn't move to touch her again. He didn't attempt to speak. He just stood before her, arms at his sides, watching her, waiting.
He suppressed the urge to smile at the angry wet kitten look she wore, memories of disagreements and make ups flashed burning red in his mind. But the rush of nostalgia vanished when he noticed the difference in her eyes. No longer were they bright, innocent and happy. He didn't know for sure if it was his fault, if all these years she'd walked around with a darker outlook on the world because of the pain he'd caused her. Had he put out her light? The thought terrified him, She had been the sunlight that brightened the darkness he carried his whole life. She was the screaming color in a world he'd only known to be black and white and like a moth living in endless night, he was drawn to her her light.
"You're different than you were before."
She huffed and crossed her arms, and his eyes fell on the way her breasts swelled and pressed against one another. Subconsciously he licked his lips, remembering the way the rose colored nipples beneath her silver top tasted, the way she'd cry out when he took one between his teeth. Fucks sake jackass now is not the time, he scolded himself.
