Eighteen- In Which Sera Is Old...?

"Um.. So," Stiles muttered awkwardly as Derek brushed hair off of his sister's face. "How do you and Sera know each other exactly?"

Stiles was confused as to why Derek Hale was in his sister's room. What had they been doing? A horrified expressed reached the teenager's face her watched Derek cradle his sister.

Derek Hale was scary, that was no doubt, so why was he here? Holding a random chick so tenderly?

Derek's hand froze for a second, did Stiles know? How could he not? Did he not know the change in his own sister?

Seraphina had more parts filled in now, Derek couldn't see the drastic change since he knew her post-bite but couldn't Stiles? She had a literal glow to her whenever he looked at her, looked at her. Meaning when he was in all supernatural mode, it was purple telling him she was something else.

How did they know each other exactly? She'd held his secret

"Friends." He gruffly answered as Stiles nodded suspiciously.

"... Lovers?" Derek turned his cold green eyes to glare at Stiles. "Yeah, you're right." He let out a sigh as he stared at his sister's peaceful state. "She has a typ—"

"Stop." Derek growled as he grasped Seraphina and brought his head to her chest. Something was off, her heartbeat was too quiet.

"She dated this man named Ted once, he was kinda weird. Liked to collect t—"

"Stiles! Shut the hell up!" His voice was more panicked as his ear rested against her chest. He heard absolutely nothing.

Seraphina had no heart beat.

With shaky hands, Derek laid her flat on the ground. His hands moved to the left side of her chest a he pressed down, counting in his head. The heartbeat never picked back up.

"Stiles, Stiles!" He called as he shoved the teenager back.

He moved hi mouth to her's and clasped his fingers over her nose. He breathed as much air as he could but that didn't change. His hands quickly moved back to her chest, he heard something and it made him still for a moment. Hope was in his eyes as he stared expectantly. Nothing happened.

He'd mistaken the sound of her ribs breaking as a heart beat.

Stiles looked confused he scooted towards his older sister. His eyes traced her peaceful face as he gently placed a hand on her fave. "Seraphina? Hey,  Ser— Hey!" He moved a hand moved to see if he could feel her pulse. "What's wrong,  sis?"

His eyes shot to Derek with an accusing stare. "What the hell did you do to her?!" Tears welled in Stiles eyes as his sisters chest remained unmoving as did the pulse beneath his fingers.

Derek stared at the dark substance on his hands as his mind flashed to Paige, his first love. First innocent. Not again. He'd ruined another innocent life. But how could he of known? It's been weeks since she was bitten, why now? Why now?

Stiles stood suddenly an ran a panicked hand across his head, was it hot in here? "I need some air." He muttered solemnly as he moved to the door.

Derek nodded slowly as he stood to follow after Stiles.

The pain was gone. But the darkness had taken over. For a moment everything was still, then the pain returned.

She was alone. No one for as far a her eyes could see in the darkness.

"H-Hello?!" Her voice echoed an her chest tightened as she swallowed deeply. She could taste the death.

Whispers erupted around her and she spun around to find the source. Over there? No it was definitely over there!

Spinning around once more she became face to face with an elderly woman.

The woman who stood in front of her was a version of herself, much much older. Her eyes were misty, yet she stared at Seraphina like she could see her.

"Choose." The voice echoed around the darkness as the older Seraphina stretched two closed hands.

She opened her mouth to speak but nothing escaped her. Well not nothing, just a drip of black ooze that tasted like death. She choke lightly and held a hand to he aching throat.

"Choose!" Older Seraphina yelled as her clasped fists began to glow, the left a beautiful pink and the right a vibrant gold.

She coughed violetly as more of the ooze filled her mouth and nose. "W-W—"

"One or the other other, choose." Her tone was ferocious and for the first time since her mother had died— Seraphina was scared of the dark.

Her hand shakily pointed to the right hand.

The light flashed brighter as the old woman opened her head, then suddenly she could breath.

Her eyes adjusted to the new brightness but this brightness was familiar. It was her room, but every thing was golden.
