Zero- In Which Sera is Kind

Seraphina Stilinski sat in her room listening to an old vinyl and catching up on police paperwork.  Her brother Stiles had told her he was going to his friend,  Scott McCall, house for an hour or two.  She had thought nothing of it and let him go hoping her wouldn't get her into any trouble.

Stiles was a kid that intended to get in trouble a lot. He was sarcastic, rude,  and annoying—in her opinion.  But his friend Scott was a sweet boy who often found himself getting pulled into her brother's mischief. If Stiles went down Scott surely as hell went down right after.

An hour later she saw her father's police car pull into their driveway,  followed by a blue Jeep with the name of Roscoe.

Seraphina turned the music off and went down stairs to see what mischief her brother had gotten into.

Walking down the stairs to investigate. As she reached the bottom she caught the last bit of the conversation.

"...Its a half of a dead body dad! Why wouldn't I go look it out!" Her brother yelled, Seraphina couldn't see them but she knew her fathers face must've been red.

"You are testing my patience! Room now, or no car for a week!" Noah Stilinski yelled to his son. Noah was a kind man, didn't like raising his voice unless necessary but Stiles had crossed the line.

Stiles stomped up the stairs towards Seraphina making her act like she was just walking down. "Hey, what's with all the yelling?" She asked in a soft voice.

"Nothin' Sera, just... Leave it." Stiles said before walking up the stairs slumply. Sera continued down the stairs to see that her father sat at their dining table.

Sliding in next to him she rested her head on her dad's shoulder, "Sorry dad. He said he was going over to Scott's to play video games." She said grimly. Sera felt bad that she let Stiles out after curfew and caused more stress for her dad.

Noah let out a sigh before patting his daughter's head, "Its alright, Sera, you didn't know what he had planned. Its not your fault." He rubbed her  shoulder before releasing her. "Hey could you get me some Jack?" He asked his daughter before rubbing at his eyes, "Damn." He muttered.

"Yeah... If I could get a glass as well?" She asked slowly with a raised eyebrow. Her dad turned to her with tired eyes and let out a feel sigh, "Please, just an itty bitty  drink?" Seraphina asked with a hopeful smile.

Seraphina's dad just sighed and nodded his head before pulling out a few files.  Seraphina clapped and went to the fridge to grab the bottle he kept in the back. She popped it opened and poured some into two glasses, she grabbed herself a big glass to make it look like she had a little, and walked them over to her father.
