(Eddie's POV)
"Richie! Give me my fanny pack!" I yelled at Richie. We were running through different rooms in Bill's house. Ben was at the kitchen table looking at books he found in the living room. Beverly was sitting on the stairs, laughing at us.
"Uh, how long has this been going on?" I heard Stanley ask. Finally. About time he showed up.
"Not long, believe it or not." Bev sighed. Richie and I had stopped running at this point. I took the opportunity to grab my fanny pack and run upstairs. I heard him follow after me.
I quickly hid in Bill's closet and waited for Richie to enter the room. I covered my mouth to hide my loud breathing and laughter. I listened for the sound of the bedroom door opening, but I never heard anything. Looking out of the closet, I didn't see Richie. Maybe he just decided not to follow me in here.
(Richie's POV)
Making it to the top of the stairs, I saw Eddie go into Bill's room. I quietly went into the room after him, but he wasn't there. Assuming he was hiding, I thought that I could scare him, so I crawled under the bed and waited.
Eddie opened the closet door and stepped out. I knew he was still in here.
"Richie? Are you in here?" Eddie asked, expecting me to answer. He walked over to the bed, but not close enough for me to reach him. Then he took another step, and I grabbed his ankle. He fell backwards, which I wasn't trying to make him do. Eddie also screamed, but that's what I thought would happen. I crawled out from under the bed and held out a hand to him.
He looked up at me, but he didn't take my hand. Eddie seemed visibly upset.
"Hey, Eds, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you so bad." I apologized. I knelt down next to him. He punched my left shoulder.
"You dick! I almost had a heart attack!" He said, his voice cracking halfway through his second sentence.
Then, he hugged me. Something he's never done before. But I gladly returned it.
"I'm just glad it was you." I knew what he meant by that, who the other person might've been.
Eddie was still hugging me, but I could hear him crying. I pulled away from the hug and looked at him. He refused to meet my gaze.
"Did I really scare you that bad?" I asked. I wiped some of his tears for him.
"Kinda...It's mostly because my ass hurts though." I slightly laughed at him.
"Stop it. It's not funny."
