Tristian and Taj were childhood friends who grew up in Atlanta, Georgia thanks to their families being long time friends. The two were inseparable best friends until Tristian's family moved to New York at the age of 15.  Though states separated them apart they vowed to remain in contact and keep a close relationship between the two of them until they were able to be reunited again.  It wasn't until sophomore year in college when the two reunited for the first time in five years as students at Clark Atlanta University.  The two were reunited during a homecoming event and didn't know that they were both attending the same school.

Since their sophomore year reunion the two hit it off and eventually started seeing each other romantically.  Taj's father Will, was elated that the two would be pursuing a romantic relationship and often spoke highly of her boyfriend.  He always 'saw it coming' he would often tell her.  Her relationship with her father was that he was her best friend and valued his honest opinion about her friends and who she dated.  Her father was literally black Hollywood royalty, since his teenage years he had started out as a rapper and ended up broke after poor money making decisions.  He then caught his first big break after nearly going bankrupt, and redeemed himself by being scouted out by the Quincy Jones himself for a TV show concept that he had been wanting to get developed but couldn't find the right face to fit the roll.

Her father was 'The Face' of Hollywood for nearly 30 years and the most sought out after bachelor in Hollywood along with George Clooney that was until he got married to his now wife in 2014.  Her father, though was a player he never put any woman before his daughter and because of that many temporary flings were just that, temporary flings but because he was getting older she had hoped that one woman would be able to make her father happy just as she was happy with her husband of now 5 years, or so she'd hoped.

As Taj sat across from her father for their weekly Sunday brunch at a restaurant in Buckhead she cuts through her hash browns and smiles in admiration of her father as she noticed a slight mood change towards him recently.  He had finally joined Instagram being the old head that he was and had taking social media by storm and nearly gained 1M followers in a day since his latest appearance on Ellen's daytime talk show. He skimmed through the lines of his new script preparing for a table read for the next day, he glanced at his daughter through his reading glasses resting on the bridge of his nose like the old person he was to her, and saw that she was trying to refrain from laughing.

She finally bursts out in a fit of laughter causing him to loose his train of thought and leans back in his chair with a confused smile on his face as he watched his daughter laugh at him.

"Yooo, you are such an old man I swear." Taj laughs, covering her mouth.

"I don't understand what's so funny." He chuckles, taking off his reading glasses and places it on top of his script.

"You are dad, you're just hysterical and funny looking." She chuckles and takes a sip of her mimosa and watches her dad reach out for her glass, trying to take it away.

"You know I think you've had enough of these for now." He says grabbing ahold of her drink causing her to gasp. "Hey, just cause you're grown now doesn't mean you're not my little girl."

She pouts knowing he was still correct.

"So anyways dad I love how it takes Ellen Degeneres to get you to join Instagram after I have been trying to get you to get an account for years."

"Hey I mean social media is on the rise it's a great tool to market yourself now a days." He smirks, mocking the same pitch that she gave him nearly two years before.

She shakes her head watching him pull out his phone to show her how many followers he has. "...and will you look at that I have five million more followers than you." He says referring to the 10 million followers he gained on Instagram in less than a year.
