The following morning Taj was the first one to wake up from her lack of sleep from the night before. Throughout the night her mind wandered from the possibilities that her husband could possibly be cheating on her. Her evidence that she needed was the nonexistent text message thread that had been previously deleted before. He had erased his digital tracks but she had this unknown person's number. She could either use it to her advantage and look it up or play coy and go on about their daily lives.
But then again she thought to herself, 'fuck it' she wanted to know if this was more than just a temporary fling that he had going on with the unknown assailant and was frustrated that she was just now noticing the signs of infidelity with him. As she stood in front of the mirror applying her natural beat for the day, she breathed out slowly as she watched him walk behind her through their reflection in the mirror. He groggily says 'Good morning' in a low husky voice as he made his way to the toilet to relieve himself.
She sighs feeling agitated already and knew the best way for her to not get into a fight with him so early in the morning was just to avoid him. Taj chuckles to herself trying to take her mind off of her husband and shakes her head as she leaves the bathroom to put on her outfit for the day while her husband washed his hands.
By the time Tristian finished for the day his wife was already downstairs making breakfast for the two of them. As Tristian made his way into the kitchen the flat screen TV mounted in the living room was playing a rerun of one of her favorite overly dramatic day time TV shows which was Maury. Taj mouths 'you are not the father' looking up to see the results as she cracked her last egg in a bowl to make scrambled eggs.
"And the DNA results are in..." The host says, while opening the manilla folder. "You are NOT the father." The audience roared in the background surprised by the results.
Taj on the other hand did a happy dance as she whisked in the eggs with milk and seasoning. She sighs while talking under her breath, "I told you so."
Tristian walks into the kitchen towards his wife and places his hands on her hips from behind and pecks her cheek. "Morning babe, what's for breakfast?"
"Scrambled eggs and sausage with a fruit salad bowl." Taj responds watching him nod as he made his way over to the blender to make his protein shake.
"So when are you headed back to set?"
"Well whenever the director sends me the call time to begin filming again. It may be a couple of weeks or it may be a couple of months I mean the set was on fire, we may just have to shoot around that scene." Tristian explains to her.
Taj nods understanding how long he may be here, she then pours the eggs into the frying pan and looks down sadly as she keeps a close eye on her food. She then finally decided to break the silence between the two of them by asking her burning question that's been on her mind since the night before.
"Babe are you happy with me? Like are you truly satisfied with me?" Tristian looks at her weirdly, puzzled by her question. "Like I know we got married at a young age but do you ever regret not going out to explore other women cause I'm literally all you've known." She blurts out.
"Where is this coming from? Have you always felt this way about us? Is that the subliminal message that I'm getting?"
"No," Taj chuckles dryly. "That's actually the exact opposite of what I'm trying to say...and you didn't answer my question."
"Look you know I love you, and I only want to be with you. Where is all of this coming from?" Tristian asks trying to get out of the hot seat.
"You love me, so then why was there a 'you up' message on your phone from last night?"
