It's been two months since Mike last spoke to Taj or even seen her in person. She was checked out from the world. Her social media was left unused, being that the last photo that she posted was from three months ago. Mike felt bad for the way things ended but he knew he had other things to worry about, like his new baby on the way. Amal was now 4 and a half months pregnant with their first born child and he decided not to worry about his relationship with Taj anymore. As far as he was concerned their relationship was over. He rekindled his relationship with his baby's mother and so far everything was fine.
It was a busy Friday night at the restaurant and it was the middle of a dinner rush. Stacked with orders, he walked through the kitchen area of his restaurant, weaving through his staff members to grab a couple of bottles of wine to place at the bar. Once he found what he was looking for, he made his way back out front to the bar and nearly stepped in his tracks when he spotted Taj's best friend Alexis. Sitting across from her was her best friend Taj and her boyfriend Daniel. A bottle slipped from his hands crashing onto the ground startling the bartender, waking Mike from his trance.
"Damn it." Mike cursed underneath his breath, placing the other bottle on the counter before he'd ruin another bottle.
"You okay boss?" Martin asked him, noticing that his head wasn't in the right place.
"Y-yeah I'm fine. Just a little over worked i guess." He lies.
"Have you taken a break yet?" Martin asked him as he helped pick up the glass off of the floor and into the trash bin.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that? I'm fine. I live for nights like this." Mike chuckled to himself. "You don't have to do that I'll clean this up and you take care of the customers at the bar." He instructed.
"Gotcha, let me know if you need any help." Martin offered before he returned to his post while Mike cleaned up the mess he made.
"Did you hear that loud noise ?" Alexis asked her friends at their table.
"What noise?" Taj asked with her mouth full.
"Never mind it sounded like someone broke something. Speaking of breaking something have you talked to Mike since you now, the baby momma drama?" Alexis looked at her friend as she cut through her food.
Taj rolled her eyes. "No, i have not. Besides, I don't want to be caught in the middle of his baby momma mess besides they're probably back together already if my womanly intuitions are correct."
"Well you wouldn't be correct if you had just been an adult like I had told you to months ago and speak with him."
"I don't want to be a nigga's second option and it's not fucking fair that I can't have kids and he just goes and plants his seeds in another woman."
"See now you sound bitter." Daniel chimed in with his mouth full.
Taj squints her eyes at him.
"I am not bitter, I'm fucking frustrated. Every time I meet a guy some shit always happens."
"To be fair he didn't know that he knocked up that woman."
"So he says." She shrugs. "I just don't want to be in the middle of his relationship with his baby moms they were friends way before he met me. Childhood friends at that, he definitely has feelings for her if they slept together. I'm just tired of always getting the short end of the stick." Taj sighs, shoving her food into her mouth.
"Don't worry, it'll be okay. And maybe these men just aren't the right ones and you can always adopt if you want a child that bad." Alexis chimes in.
