It was nearing 2am and the bar was shutting down for the night. Guests and restaurant goers had filed out of the restaurant but Taj wanted to stay just a little bit longer to be with her newly found bartender bae. The two had undoubtedly hit it off since their first encounter just hours before. Though in the back of her mind she knew she was going through a break up, his kind words were everything that she needed in that moment to heal, process it, and move on.
Taj and her best friend were the only guests left in the restaurant along with Mike and a few other workers closing up the restaurant and bar. As Mike wipes down the countertops at the bar he looks over to where Taj was and closely watched as her friend took away her last drink for the night. She wasn't drunk, but tipsy though because she had one too many. But her friend was her designated driver and was there to help her make sure that she was getting home safely.
"When can I see you again?" Mike asks while putting the rag away and cutting the lights off by the bar.
Taj and her friend Alexis both look up at him at the sudden, but expected question. She bashfully smiles and pushes her hair away from her face to look at him clearly one last time before she left.
"Well, how does Friday night sound?" Taj asks, remembering her only free date this week, hoping he'd be free too.
"Sounds perfect...how about I pick you up at eight?" He suggests.
"It's a date." She smiles, walking up to him to embrace him in a hug.
As the two embrace in a long hug, Alexis smiles at the two from a distance and watches as they pull away from each other. He then sends her off with a kiss on her cheek and watches her adjust her jacket around her upper body.
"You have my number now, don't be afraid to use it if you need anything." Mike offers watching her nod.
"Noted." Taj says walking towards the front entrance of the restaurant.
"Text me when you get home, so I know you made it safe." Mike instilled in her.
"I got you, have a good night." Taj smiles, waving goodbye as her and her friend left to go home for the evening.

The following morning, Taj had just wrapped up her first meeting with her divorce lawyers to go over what she was entitled to during their separation since they did sign a prenup. As she kicked the front door behind her, she exhales slowly needing a shot more now than ever but decided to give her liver a break after last nights antics. Her husband Tristian was sitting in the living room watching TV as if he didn't hear her just walk in. She shakes her head and rolls her eyes already agitated at her husbands antics and it had only been nearly five minutes since she'd been home.
She places her bag on the kitchen island and takes out the manilla folder out of her briefcase containing the divorce papers that were drafted up and would be ready to sign to start the process of filing. Taj let's out a long sigh and knew in her mind that she needed to do this before she chickened out. She silently says a prayer in her head first for strength and guidance before strutting into the living room where her soon-to-be ex husband.
Tristian looks up at her weirdly as she stood in front of the TV blocking his view.
"You finally wanna talk?" Tristian eyes her as he leans back into the couch holding onto his mimosa.
"Oh, honestly there is nothing to talk about. You chose to sleep with that female more than one time disregarding my feelings and what I was going through. You've made up your mind about where we stand relationship wise and I choose to not be in a relationship with a serial cheater. So, do as you please...sleep with whomever you want because now I don't give a fuck." She says tossing the papers in his lap.
