The next few days were as Changbin's usual days went. He would find some food that wasn't too expired, go out to search for some weapons, and go back to spend the rest of the day writing. Nothing changed too much, except now he has someone to take care of.

Changbin could tell how much Felix is already starting to trust him, even though a big rule on surviving this apocalypse is to not put too much trust in anybody.

As soon as Changbin knew it, Felix tried claiming "I'm fine now, I really am!", and wanted to come with Changbin on his adventures for the sake of not being alone.

It's been a week now and Changbin is starting to pick up some things about the Australian boy that he hasn't learned before; because they never really had a decent conversation. He's quite an affectionate and sometimes annoying boy, he likes the color pink (and also boys, he shamelessly admitted), he's pretty good at drawing, and will stop anything he's doing to learn a girl group choreo.

Changbin also took notice in Felix's honey skin, his eyes forming into crescents when he smiles, his literally perfectly toned body (maybe he saw Felix changing his shirt once), and most importantly, his freckles. God, those freckles.

No, it's not the time to be whipped during the damn end of the world.

''Changbin, Changbin! Look what I found!'', Felix ran into the small market cradling something in his arms. The older responded with a groggy ''What now...'' because he woke up shortly before.

Before Changbin eye's was a puppy, small enough to fit comfortably in a baby cradling position. It seemed like a golden retriever. ''Are you serious?'', Changbin uttered with a disappointed expression.

''Yeah, Changbin she's so cute!! I mean I think she's a she...'', Felix excitedly said. Changbin fought back with,''Uhh.. what if it's infected and it's gonna kill us in the middle of the night.'' He received a pout, oh god no, not those pouts.

Changbin ended up giving in after Felix did nothing but pout for the rest of the day. He promised he would make sure the dog eats and doesn't do her business everywhere. And maybe Changbin enjoyed when she cuddled up to him at night.

Maybe Changbin was also happy that he let the dog stay because Felix might have kissed Changbin on the cheek because he was so happy. Changbin convinced himself that it happened only because he's an affectionate boy...

Changbin started to notice the often change in the other boy's emotions. One day he can be in a good mood and the other he wouldn't be, but he couldn't blame him, the kid is traumatized and was missing his friend. It's not like Changbin isn't going through things either, he's just better at coping with his emotions.

The older boy has found any way possible to distract Felix from being in his depressed state, he absolutely despised seeing that kid with a frown. If he could do anything at all, it was comforting his friends. As much as Changbin didn't always like physical affection, he felt comfortable giving Felix hugs and letting him fall asleep on himself after crying his eyes out. Changbin felt comfortable with Felix, and so did Felix with Changbin.

One particular time, Felix was sitting with Changbin on the older's bed, well Felix was almost sitting on Changbin but that was besides the point. The younger brought up a conversation about the boy's pasts, because they didn't know much about each other before their coincidental meetup.

Changbin told Felix about his friends Hyunjin and Jisung, and about how they always stuck together no matter what. There was a snowstorm during December, and everything became much harder to deal with. Having to walk in the snow, with a lack of good clothes, while trying to avoid the living dead, was not easy. Hyunjin got lost that day, and when Jisung tried looking for him, he found that the boy died in the snow.

Jisung made sure Changbin didn't see it, but while he tried tending to his friend he got a surprise attack. Changbin heard everything go down, and after he checked to see if his friends made it, which was to no avail, he fled. That's how he ended up at the gas station mini-mart.

Hearing this story only made Felix more upset, even though he only slightly knew the two boys that came to an unfortunate end. After comforting Changbin, who let his emotions take over, Felix started sharing his own story.

''I had a brother named Bang Chan, you might have seen him around school. We grew up in Australia together until we moved to Korea and went to school here. He really was the best brother I could imagine.'', Felix put on a fond smile as he talked about his brother.

Then Changbin got worried,''Why are you using past tense, did something happen to him?'' Felix shrugged,''I'm not sure, we got seperated and I haven't seen him since all of this happened. I really hope I'll find him unharmed..'', he sighed.

''I bet we'll find him,'', Changbin smiled,''You know what, I'm sure of it.''

Kinda feel bad for killing two of the boys off so quickly oof
