"Changbin, where are you?!"
"Come here we need to help him."
"He's dead Changbin! He's dead!"
"Changbin! They got me-"
Changbin shot up, sweating and breathing heavily. He could barely breathe and felt his eyes stinging with tears. He didn't want to wake Felix, but he really did at the same time. To his relief, he heard ruffling of blankets and movement of the boy in the other bed.
''Changbin?'', he heard a deep and husky voice call the stressed boy's name. Felix seemed to immediately know what was wrong so he got up, grabbed a water bottle, and traveled to Changbin's bed. When Felix wrapped his arms around the shorter boy, said boy broke down in sobs.
''It was my f-fault Felix.. I didn't do anything because I was too slow...'', Changbin sobbed while gripping Felix's shirt like his life depended on it. ''It wasn't your fault Changbin, you couldn't have done anything to stop it. Please don't blame yourself, it's killing you...'', Felix softly said against the top of Changbin's hair.
The rest of the time, Felix listened (while occasionally whispering comforting things including, "You'll be alright" and ''I'll always be with you''). Until the sobs turned into whimpers, and those turned into light snores, Felix pet Changbin's hair as he laid his head on the younger's stomach. This was the first time Felix saw Changbin completely break down.
His weakness is losing the ones he loves, i need to make sure that doesn't happen again, Felix thought.

''I really can't read your lyrics?'', Felix whined and earned just a shake of a head. ''They're embarrassing, I'd like to keep them to myself, thank you.'', Changbin sassily answered back.
''Fine, then I won't show you my drawings.'', Felix put it arms on his hips, looked away from Changbin and pouted. He thought it was the cutest thing, seeing him pretending to be mad. ''Anyways, I want to keep the drawings a surprise until one day I'll show you.'' Changbin was interested.
Felix waddled over to their dog and scooped her up into his arms. ''Uh.. Changbin, we haven't named the dog yet.'' Changbin's mouth formed into an 'o' when realized it. ''I've been calling her 'dog' this whole time...'', Changbin admitted.
''Well, tell me when you think of a name, 'cuz I can't right now.'', Felix said to a thinking Changbin. Changbin broke his silence with another surprised face,''Oh, I have to go out and find more food for us and our baby, that would suck if I forgot.''
It took time for Changbin to realize he said ''our baby'' and felt embarrassed, but realized a pink tint covered Felix's face. ''Don't be embarrassed Changbin, I would call her our baby too.'', Felix smiled wide, eyes forming into crescents. That always got Changbin.
Changbin was about to leave when he felt a hand wrapping around his wrist,''Wait, don't go without me please..'', Felix said so in a completely different tone than he was just speaking in, he sounded vulnerable. He didn't want anything like last time to happen.
The other boy seemed to understand why Felix sounded so desperate, and unhooked his wrist from Felix's grasp to hold onto his hand instead. ''Let's go together then'', Changbin smiled and followed the lead. Maybe Felix's heart sped up more than usual, and maybe he was caught staring at Changbin as they were walking while looking for food.
''You should be looking for food instead of looking at me.'', Changbin giggled which resulted in a very shy looking Felix whipping his head to the opposite direction and keeping it there for a good 3 minutes.
It seems like the two boys had company as they heard branches crack behind them. With both of them whipping around at the same time, they saw a hunched-over crawler that was about the height of Felix. Felix's grip became tighter on Changbin's hand as he watched the other take out a kitchen knife.
As Changbin slowly got closer, the zombie clawed at him and only missed his face by an inch. Not much harm would be done, but it would have distracted Changbin and would let the potential killer hurt him. Felix yelped and grabbed the knife from the other's hand. In a swift motion, he slit the crawler's throat and watched him collapse to the ground.
''No one hurts my Binnie'', Felix humphed and put on a proud face. He turned his head to see a stunned Changbin staring at Felix. ''What? You didn't know I always killed zombies before you found me? Those creepy-crawlers don't stand a chance.''
One: Felix just killed a zombie in front of me. Two: he said "my" while talking about me. Three: He called me Binnie... BINNIE. Four: He said creepy-crawlers that's so cute, Changbin internally freaked out.
''Hello, earth to Changbin, did I really surprise you that much?'', Felix waved his hand in front of Changbin's face to get his attention. The boy cleared his throat and kept walking. Oh, and don't forget the part where Felix skipped up to Changbin to hold his hand. Yeah, that made the ''scary and dark boy'' turn into a mushy mess.
Eventually the two boys found enough food to fill their bags as well as some game safe enough to eat, and carefully started to return to what they called home. Felix bet that he would kiss Changbin on the cheek if the older were to make it first to the mini-mart. So, he wanted to chase after him so he makes sure Felix got there safe and maybe so he could do the little dare he promised.
As Felix was happily running, Changbin took the challenge as well, only to go flying from stubbing his toe and tripping over a tree stump. This resulted in both a few scratches on his elbows and face and a very concerned Felix. When they got back Changbin got ready for a lecture.
''I know I started this challenge but you should have looked where you were going. I mean, I got here without a scratch unlike you, did you want a kiss that bad?'', Felix sternly said but then started teasing. He applied cream and band-aids to Changbin's elbows and starting to work on his face. Felix was sure to always carry a mini first-aid kit wherever he went.
This really wasn't helpful to Changbin as he got to be really close to Felix's face. Changbin could completely admit that he wanted to rest his hands on the sides of Felix's face and kiss all over his stupidly pretty face. ''Stop trying to avoid my eyes so bad or they're going to strain'', Felix said to a madly blushing Changbin.
''I'm sorry, you just- uhm.. personal space and I haven't been this close to your face. You look good I guess", Changbin had to say it, he would've exploded if he didn't. ''Thank you Binnie, you don't look too bad yourself'', Felix definitely knew what he was doing.
The boys ate and as soon as they knew it, it was time to go to sleep. Well, at least they thought it was, the sun being down and the crappy electronic clock on the wall were the only ways for them to tell.
''Hey Binnie, do you mind if I move my bed and conjoin it with yours? I'm feeling mighty lonely over here", Felix asked while scratching the back of his neck. ''Of course you can", Changbin smiled. His heart melted when Felix responded with a ''yay!" and clapped his hands together.
When Felix flopped down on the bed he immediately attacked Changbin with a hug, and they both settled into a comfortable position with Felix almost hugging Changbin like a koala. It worked even though the Aussie boy was slightly taller than Changbin.
''Goodnight Binnie'', Felix whispered. ''Goodnight Lix'', Changbin whispered back.
''And goodnight dog'', Felix also whispered to the fluffy creature that was dozing off at the end of the now large bed.
The two boys were so happy like this, they never knew they would find happiness in the end of the world. They both desperately wanted it to last, but nothing good lasts forever.
