Monotonous Monday...

After a difficult weekend for both Kabir and Palomi, Monday was an indication for a fresh start. Though both of them were exhausted, they had to pull themselves to their workplaces.
At around noon, Palomi got a call from Kunal. He asked, "Palomi I have a casual party at 8pm. Do you wanna come?"
Palomi made a cranky face and said, "I'm not really sure Kunal. I don't think I'm in the mood to cause serious damage to the whole crowd."
Kunal insisted, "Palomi please come. You're a very good friend of mine. I want you to be there. Please!"
Palomi thought for a while and she got an idea. She asked, "Do you mind if I bring someone to the party?"
"Who?"
"Well, he's a cool person. I want him to be there as well. Is it okay?"
"I don't mind. But, is he your date or something?"
"No. He's just a friend."
"Okay."
"But still, I'll confirm whether he'll come or not. Just give me ten minutes."
Palomi hung up the call and called Sushant. She was nervous but she still didn't want to miss the opportunity.
Sushant answered, "Hi Palomi. What's up?"
"Hi Sushant. I just want to ask you something. A very good friend of mine has invited me for a party at his place. So, would you like to come with me?"
Kunal was unsure of himself and spoke in a low tone, "I would love to come Palomi but I have other plans."
Palomi looked sad and said, "Oh that's fine."
"I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you for this. I promise."
"Okay cool. Bye."
Palomi kept her phone on the table and thought that she had to get bored alone in the party.

While Kabir had a lunch break, he was excited to eat what Daniel had sent for him. It was Kabir's favourite dish, pasta. He called Daniel immediately and said, "You're amazing. Thank you so much."
Daniel was happy and he said, "Anything for you babe."
Kabir laughed and said, "So, what are you upto?"
"Well just watching some shows on Netflix. Monday holiday sucks man."
"I know. I wish even you had a Sunday break."
"I wish. Its so boring to spend a holiday without someone especially you."
Kabir said dramatically, "Aww. The devil is missing someone."
"I'm not missing you. I'm just regretting."
"Its the same thing duffer."
Both of them laughed. Kabir said, "If you want your holiday to be fruitful, we could spice things up. What say?"
"I don't mind. But are you fine?"
Kabir let out a deep breath and said, "I'm trying to forget about it. I'm sure that you're going to make me feel better. So I'd better do that right?"
Daniel smiled and said, "I'm glad you think like that."
Kabir blushed and said, "Dan I love you."
"Same here dumbo."
Both laughed again and Kabir hung up the call. He ate pasta with all his heart and felt better about himself.

Soon it was late evening and Palomi made it to Kunal's house. When she rang the bell, Kunal opened the door and welcomed her. Though Palomi wasn't as happy as him, she pretended to look happy. When she entered the house, she saw Sushant standing alone in a corner. Palomi was happy and she called him, "Sushant?"
Sushant looked at her and he looked happy too. He exclaimed with joy, "Hi Palomi. Nice to see you."
He gave her a hug, which she hadn't expected. Kunal stared at both of them. After the hug, Palomi asked, "What are you doing here?"
"I was just going to ask you the same thing."
They both laughed. Kunal looked at them and said, "I thought I'll introduce you guys but looks like you already know each other."
Palomi prompted, "We met yesterday. So Sushant, how do you know Kunal?"
"Well, we're friends from work. What about you?"
"He's my school friend but also a very dear friend of mine."
Both looked at Kunal, who was smiling. He said, "I love you too Palomi."
All of them laughed. Kunal excused himself and Palomi and Sushant were left alone.
Sushant said, "So you wanted to invite me to this party? What a coincidence!"
"I know right. What a small world!"
"You know, I thought of ditching Kunal so that I could come with you. Thank god I didn't do that. I would have got busted."
Palomi chuckled. She said, "You know what, I was going to ditch Kunal because you said you wouldn't come. And thank god, I didn't do that."
Kunal offered, "Do you want to go to the balcony?"
"Okay, sure."

Kabir and Daniel were sleeping on their bed. Both of them finished having sex. Kabir didn't look pretty happy. Daniel saw that. He said, "Don't tell me you're thinking about her!"
Kabir got up and ignored that statement. He sat on the bed and didn't look at Daniel. He said, "Dan, I'm sorry. I feel pissed off from inside. Whenever I kiss you or have sex with you, I like it but there is a huge amount of guilt in my gut. It feels horrible and I feel disgusting."
Daniel sighed and sat on the bed too. He said, "Unfortunately Kabir, you can't have Palomi and me. You may have to choose."
"I can't choose Dan. Its difficult. I love you and I love her."
Daniel felt angry and said, "Fine. You love both of us right? I know Palomi. But does she know me?"
Kabir's eyes widened and he asked, "Just get to the point."
"If you want both of us, you may have to tell her about us. Because what we are having here is something different and serious, right?"
Kabir didn't know how to answer. He said, "Palomi will hate me forever. She will never trust me again."
"You have already broken her trust Kabir. Don't you realize that? Plus, she broke up with you. She won't even care now."
"But I care! I do care."
"Then why did you break her trust?"
"Because I fell for you and things changed. We were not just flatmates, we became more than that. When I'm with you, I feel secure and I know that I'll be happy. You've changed me. Whereas, Palomi never changed me. I tried to change her."
There was silence for a while. Kabir was fighting with himself. He had no idea what to do.
