Sabrina's POV
"God Dammit Rose let him on the door, there is more than enough room!" My best friend Jess screamed, as we watched the end of the movie Titanic. I chucked at her sudden outburst. "Chill out Jess its just a movie." I informed her. But apparently I said the wrong thing because if looks could kill I would be 6 feet under.
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!" Jess screamed. I, personally did not want to get on my best friends bad side so I walked out of her room and to the kitchen so she could cool off. You see, my best friend is the definition of perfection, she's a fiery red head with green eyes and not to mention she's the head cheerleader at our school. So she tends to hangout with the "popular crowd" and yes she is dating the quarterback of the football team even though he's cheated on her one to many times. I've tried to tell her to break up with him but, all she can say is "3 strikes and he is out, I promise."
I, however, am not so popular. I'm part of "rodents" of the school. Rodents are what the popular kids call the nerds. I've been a nerd my whole life meaning I've been bullied as well. In fact Jess' boyfriend Chase and all his football buddies always belittle me in every way possible. From pushing me in the halls, to calling me names, it has always been this way.
We all live in a little town called Woodfort. Everyone knows each here because we all grew up going to the same schools, from Kindergarten to high school. But there has always been two sides of Woodfort, the upper class and the lower class. I'm part of the lower class, where people are just financially stable living paycheck to paycheck every month. Jess is part of the upper class where they have mansions and never worry about money.
"Sabrina why did you leave my room?" Jess asks me while she enters the kitchen. I look at her like shes insane. "Are you kidding? The aliens on Mars heard you yell at me to get out of your house." She gives me cheeky grin as she says, "You know I didn't mean it."
I really couldn't tell if she meant it or not because on her 13th birthday she invited 15 girls to have a sleep over and she literally kicked out 9 of them. She made them sleep on her trampoline outside in her huge backyard. I just decided to smile and nod. Jess sighed in contentment, "Great! Let's go back to my room and chill before you have to go home then." she said and I followed her to her room.
Tomorrow was the first day back to school so Jess and I decided that we would hang out all day today. We watched movies, played games, and she told me all the latest drama. She was scrolling through her phone when she gasped. "Whats wrong?" I asked. She looked at me with wide eyes. "Kiara Daniels and Asher Reed broke up!" she squealed. "This is it, it's your time to shine Sabrina." I blushed furiously at her words.
Asher Reed is the Woodfort Warriors Bad boy and I've had a crush on him since I can remember. He's got dark brown curly locks, blue eyes , a beautiful jaw line, and an amazing body. Kiara Daniels is his off again and on again girlfriend. When he's not with her he sleeps with every girl he can before going back with Kiara. He's part of the upper class and lives right next door to Jess, but he has never noticed me.
"Jess shut up we know but the end of the week they will be back together again" I say while rolling my eyes at her. "Sabrina come on, this is our last year of high school don't be such a downer I can ask Zack if he can put in a good word for you to Asher." I rolled my eyes again and turned away.
Zack Phillips, Asher's best friend, he has always been nice to me because he is in love with Jess. He absolutely adores her and she is to oblivious to realize it. I like Zack but I couldn't handle it if he told Asher I liked him, I would simply explode from embarrassment.
"Asher is way out of my league Jess, he's like a Greek god compared to me I'm like the Hunchback of Notre Dame." I sigh.
"Sabrina, even the Hunchback of Notre Dame had love in the end." She said emphasizing hunchback and softly rubbing my arm to comfort me. I smacked her arm away, "Are you calling me a hunchback?" I replied. She chuckles, "No Sabrina I was kidding, but in all seriousness you are beautiful. I mean look at you, you have long curly hair, blue eyes, and a killer body. Any guy would be lucky to have you. I think you should talk to him this year, who knows maybe you guys will have a spark."
I smiled at her kind words. After our talk we put on another movie, A walk to remember, where Jess and I both bawled our eyes out. It was getting late so eventually I had to go home. I got a text from my mom, 'Hey, I'm outside.' and Jess walked me to her front door. She gave me a hug and I walked out. On the way to her front gate I spotted Asher walking into his house with a girl that clung to him like he was her life support. She was giggling at whatever he had said to her. I looked away knowing what they were about to do in that house and walked to my mom's car.
"Hi sweetie, how was the hang sesh." she said trying to sound like a teenager. I laughed, "The hang sesh was great mom. But never say that again please." She smiled and we drove to my house listening to the music playing on the radio.
