Some people have come to the end searching for the Stampede Plotline fic, which is seperate from this. It is called "High Roller" IN A Seperate book from this on my profile!
[Gambler]A single tree, full of apples is bright in front of me. I've long past Shana and the others. Only one man, sitting at peace is there in front of me.
"I couldn't live long enough to atone for the sins I committed, but my death on its own is probably the best for everyone. It's not enough, but there's nothing left for me to do."
"... You weren't meant to leave your brother alone. He's been so lonely," I tell to him.
"Neither were you," he snaps back. His face softens though, a small chuckle making its way out his lips making me raise a brow in question. "You're cute!"
A blush seeps to my cheeks. "Huh?"
"I bet he's never told you that! I bet he's so embarrassed and so shy, that younger brother of mine! Geez, and you still fell for him, what an idiot!"
"Hey!" I snap. "That's not all it takes, you know! Be a little nicer if we're going to spend eternity in death together will you?"
"What? Oh, you're not staying here."
Two hands grab firmly at my ankles, pulling me to the grass and beyond the blue skies. "Knives!"
Sobbing. That's all that registers to my mind when my eyes open in a white walled hospital room. There's nothing pleasant about being ripped from the afterlife, I could have finally been at peace. I am embraced by the arms at my side, crying into Livio's chest, heaving and pulling at the stitches all over my body.
"You're alive, big sis!" He pulls me tighter into his arms for a hug, and I find more hands clawing at my body and shoulders being Meryl and Millie.
Knives, you're forgiven. I wish I got to know you better-- when you were nice, is what I mean. You sucked for the fair portion I knew you for. I can't sense you anymore, but I know you took care of your brother. Now take care of Rem.
Meryl, please don't stop calling me as long as you live, I enjoy talking to you. But as for your show, please stop calling me. I have work too. I'm glad, however, that your show is successful. If you do it on something like flora or fauna, or technology, I'll be happy to pitch in.
Millie, thank you for always bringing by flowers. You know, it's not like I'm in the hospital anymore. I'm just a little gimpy. I'm going to probably be for the rest of my life. I don't feel like retiring regardless.
Livio, I'm glad all your siblings are safe. I'm unbelievably happy. And that they all have a home with Vash's family from the ship. Please don't push yourself too hard either. I know it's been a while and you heal fast, but you got fucking impaled by a man sized nail.
Chronica, please chill out. Thank you for saving my life, I almost wilted six months ago. You and those humans who used the last of the life-saving electricity to buzz me back to life. But hey, we have beautiful flower fields near December now! And they're growing, and mutating into other different flowers. It's a lot of colour, I think you should enjoy it while you're stuck here.
Wolfwood, little bro. You shitty-ass stupid fucking idiot passed on the recklessness to baby Livio. He is pretty capable of keeping himself alive, but he's way more reckless than you. He's way more nice to me than you. I really thought I was about to visit you back with our final battle, but I'm sort of glad that didn't come true. I also didn't think I'd make it up to heaven with you. God is not about to forget I blew up a church, and neither are you.
