"Mags." He taps the table trying to get my attention. "Margot."
"Sorry I was listening to music." I keep my head down for a moment and then look up to him. Fuck.
"You coming to the game Friday," he replies sitting down across from me.
"Yeah," Fuck.

I know I'm not going to that game. I have no intention of seeing our team win and watching Monty all up on Celia for another week in a row.

"I mean I don't know actually, um lots of homework this week, kinda busy." I look up at him and see his expression shift. "Monty still throwing a party?" I know he is I don't know why I feel the need to continue on this conversation.
"You know it." He says shoving a fry in between his pale pink lips. "You coming?" He continues.

I want to say yes. God, I want to just tell Arlin that I like him and that I have no interest in Monty anymore. But I don't. Arlin's soft green eyes shift, and I follow them behind me to see what I've been dreading all day. This new girl everyone seems to be so obsessed with. God, it's almost like I haven't been here throwing myself at my ex-boyfriend's best friend for almost a year, yet here he is jaw on the floor over this new girl? Is this seriously my life? Fucking hell. She continues toward our table. I have no intention of staying here and watching this.

"Hey, It's Arlin, right? You're in my first block?" Fuck her. Am I really going to sit here and listen to the guy I'm in love with flirt with whoever this girl is for the rest of my lunch block? I mean she's not even that pretty, sure she's blonde, has blue eyes, she has this amazing tan. God, who am I fucking kidding if she wants Arlin I have no chance. I start to pack up my bag and throw it over my shoulder. "Well, I'm Ivy just moved here. I was just wondering if I could sit with you? You're like the only person I've met today," I look to Arlin who's jaw is still on the floor. "Yeah just take my spot," I say getting up.

No movement from Arlin still in the same fucking position. "Oh no, that'd be rude of me you can stay, I need all the friends I can get." She laughs as she sits in the seat next to mine.

God, she's even nice. Yep, no fucking chance. And as if it couldn't get any worse.

"So Ivy, there's actually a party this weekend, a good way to meet people. You should come." Arlin says. Moving his tray away from him and closing the distance between himself and Ivy.

He's fucking joking. He has to be fucking joking because I know there's no way in hell this new girl, Ivy, has caught his attention faster than I have.

"I'd love to stay, but I just remembered I have an English project due next block that I have to finish. Good meeting you, Ivy was it?" I put my bag over both shoulders this time, and pick up my tray as I get up. "I'm Margot." I look at what she's wearing and it just makes me hate her even more. Louis Vuitton. It's not even old shit it's shit that hasn't even come out yet.

I've been the rich girl in this town since before I even moved here. My dad is a lawyer at the town's head firm, and my mom was in a bunch of movies before she passed away. Now me, I've been modeling since I was 5, I don't know about most people, but I'd say I'm pretty successful especially seeing that I modeled at Miami swim week this year. Go me.

"Mags, people call her Mags. Or Maggie," He moves closer to her putting his arm on the table and laughs. "Margot is too hard to pronounce, we all fucking hate it here." He laughs again. I see a shift of uncomfort in Ivy's eyes.

"It's okay I don't mind," I look towards Arlin who still has his eyes glued to the new girl. "Monty's party? I'll be there." I add before putting my tray on top of Arlin's and turning for the door. God, now I have to go to this fucking party.
