3 days later

I was doing pretty good. I haven’t talked to Niall in about 2 days, on the first day I told him to stop tapping his pencil because it was annoying.

I walked into biology and went to my desk to sigh loudly in front of the teacher letting her know this class was boring.

“Ok, now. I will be assigning partners who I think everyone will work well with from watching you guys together. Everyone stand up.”

I expected her to put me with Sasha or Tyler since they were my only friends in the class but I didn’t really care because I knew it wouldn’t be Niall. She wouldn’t pair us, she was annoying, not insane.

“Roger and Alisha, Anna and Niall, Meloney and…”

Guess I was wrong.

I looked over to Sasha and Tyler who got paired up together who both just shrugged and made the “well, this is awkward” face.

Then I turned toward Niall who was leaning against the wall. Trying to look cool.

I could’ve sworn I actually saw him start to smile at me when he realized I was looking at him, but then his face was cold. He walked toward me.

“Move.” he said about a foot away from me.

I stepped out of the way and let him pass. “you’re welcome” I said as he slid out of the door.

The rest of the day went pretty quickly.

Its last period, then home! And I have to see Niall…great. One reason to hate this class right there.

Speak of the devil

He looked at me, I could tell he wanted to say something. I didn’t really want to hear it. I turned my head and then looked back and he went to his seat.

“Now the Greek people did not believe in monotheism, to them they’re were many gods. Can anyone name a few?”

I knew some, but I didn’t feel like answering but another thought came into my head so I raised my hand.

“yes, Anna?” Mrs. Sullivan asked.

“Is Greece and archipelago or a peninsula?” Weird question but I wanted to know.

I heard Niall say “dork” in between fake coughs. It was stupid but it kind of hurt. I cant handle feeling like I’m being judged.

“I am very impressed that you know about that ms. Baker. And it is both, but lets not get too far off topic guys…”

I loved being complimented but it was kind of embarrassing.

After class I took my time gathering my books to leave. But when I walked out of the class Niall was waiting for me.

“What do you want?” I asked annoyed.

“Come over my house” he said as more of an order.

“no!”

“I mean come over so we can get the stupid project done with, I don’t want to hang out with you”

“oh, ok. Are you taking the bus?” I asked

“No, I live right down the street” he said. That wasn’t gonna work for me.

“Well I live far away, how will I get home?”

“My mom will drive you” he said then started walking away.

After he realized I wasn’t following he turned around.

“Well C’mon” He said and we both walked out of the building.

His house was across the street, down one block. About a Ten minute walk until we get there.

Great..ten minutes of silently walking with Niall.

I wonder why he moved here.

“Hey, Niall?” I asked trying to fill in the awkward silence.

“what.” he said plainly.

“Why did you move here? Is it for you’re mom or dads job or something?”

He looked shocked. I didn’t really think it was a weird question but he is weird so…

“You actually want to know?”

“well yea” I said wondering if that was the right answer.

“Why do you care? You should hate me”

“Well I don’t” woah! That just came out. I swear, but maybe it was true..

It took him a while to answer but after a minute he answered.

“My dad cheated on my mom and she was so torn that we moved out but not far so that me and my brother could still see him”

Oh crap. Why did I even say anything, I feel so bad.

“im sorry” that was all I could say.

Then our silence came back.

“So… you have a brother?” I asked

“Why do you want to know so much” he asked meanly

“sorry”

He didn’t say anything

We finally got to his house. It was really pretty. He walked in not bothering to hold the door open for me.

This should be fun.
