"Wakey wakey rise and shine." A soft and calming voice fills the air. A voice I had missed so much since yesterday's dilemma. I slowly and carefully sit up in my bed, holding my head in pain. The light above my head flickers on with a buzzing noise complimenting it. I look up at the boy in my door way. A white bottle with a red label flies towards me, I twist the cap and pop two of the tablets into my mouth swalowing them with some water I found on my bedside table.

"Good morning Will." I smile softly at the boy, getting up and going to the bathroom to brush out my braids.

"How are you doing Y/N? You know, after yesterday?" Will asks quietly and nervously, scratching the back of his head anxiously.

"I'm just great, better than ever. Fit as a fiddle." I smile sarcastically, into the mirror and dramatically walking away to my closet. I start a search for an outfit, even though I'm probably not going anywhere.

"Well, I got you a gift." Will smiles sweetly, I try to muster up a genuine smile for him but it ends up coming out sour and depressing. Will brings a large brown paper shopping bag out from behind his back, I look at the store name. What. The. Actual. Fuck.

"Why the fuck did you buy me lingerie?" I whisper shout, quickly looking around and throwing the bag into the closet in hopes that no one would see.

"Remember the day you gave me some money at Starcourt and told me to spend it in there?" Will says with a smile. I face palm and mentally scream at myself. I'm a fuckwit.

"Yes..." I say quietly, trailing off disappointed in myself as always.

"Well, I called Nancy and she met me down there and helped me pick you out something. Have a look." Will pleads kindly, retrieving the bag from my closet and returning it back to me.

I cautiously and slowly open the bag and peek in. Black velvet swims in the light, filling half the bag with the gorgeous fabric. I run my hand slowly and carefully over and around the cloth, feeling its claming and soft texture. I slowly pull it out of the bag and lay it flat on my bed, looking at it in all its glory, finally revealing the kind of dress it is. A small and flowy dress. It's everything I've ever dreamt of and more. (The dress is the picture but if the fabric was velvet).

This dress feels like an ancient artifact to me, something that must be treasured and protected at all costs, being worth a million dollars a millimeter

This dress feels like an ancient artifact to me, something that must be treasured and protected at all costs, being worth a million dollars a millimeter. That may sound weird and an over-exaggeration, but I've never owned a dress before in my whole life. It's crazy, right? My father told me they would make me "even more" slutty. My mother said dresses would attract to much attention from the wrong people. And Joshua agrees with my mother's words. But I've always longed for a dress, the flowly fabric swaying in the wind and chasing yellow butterflies with me in bright sunflower fields. But I never got to do that, but now I can! Though I'd look like a huge child.

"Y/N, earth to Y/N!" A pale hand and soft voice interupts my joyous thoughts of the gorgeous dress. I look up at Will, into his sparkling chocolate brown eyes. I feel a tear prick in the corner of my right eye. I happily run towards him and cup his small face in my hands.

I smash my lips against his, careful enough not to make my headache worse though. I show my thankfulness through the kiss, soft but meaningful. I pull away after a few seconds to a stunned, smiling Will.

"I love it so much Will! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I squeal and jump around the room stupidly doing a sort of victory dance. I hear Will laugh as he walks to the doorway. I sit beside the dress on my bed and look at him, both of us giggle.

"Get dressed, we're going to Mike's. Don't complain, I'll explain later." Will says quickly, running out of the room followed by the sound of pencil against paper, scribling words with no remorse.

I get up quickly and confused to get changed. I throw on a pair of Josh's wide leg denim jeans with a white cropped top, branded by the arcade down the road. It's kinda cute. I pair it with some white basketball shoes I stole from a doorstep when I re-visited my old town. I do some natural makeup, leave my hair out and run out to the kitchen.

"Where's Joyce?" I ask Will confused, looking around with my brows furrowed.

"I don't know, probably out getting milk or something. We are out of it." Will shrugs, not thinking anything else of it. Though I do find it strange, I shrug it off too then realise something else.

"Where's Jonothan?" I ask even more confused then before as Will throws an Eggo into the air in my direction. I take bite of the fresh deliciousness.

"At the hospital." Will says calmly. I open my eyes in shock.

"What!" I practically scream, spitting Eggo everywhere.

"Jeez calm down. He's just visiting some Driscoll lady with Nancy. He's okay." I recover from my panic and clean up my mess.

----

Will and I pedal our bikes quickly to Mike's house without saying a word. I'm kind of scared. What if this is about lastnight? Are they going to put me down like a sick dog? Ah shit.

"Is this about last night? Because if it is, a this is unnecessary. I'm completely fine and all. I can go to a therapi-" I speak very quickly.

"No, it's not. Okay? It's about Hopper, he's gone. Missing. Now hurry up!" Will shouts back aggressively. It kinda scared me not going to lie but eh. And anyway, who in God's name is Hopper?!

We continue riding to the quite large home and we let ourselves in. We sit in front of El with the rest of the party. I sit between Mike and Will, everyone stares at El intently.

The room is almost pitch black, a TV is set up on static facing El and her eyes are covered by a bandana. There's no noise at all except the birds dull-ly chirping out side and the TV static. A streak of thick, red blood drips from El's left nostril and her lips part a slight bit from there once pursed position.

"I found him." El speaks softly and confidently.

"Where is he?" Max asks with determination plastered through her voice.

"Woods." El whispers softly again. Someone repeats her but I'm to focused on her voice to notice who. "Woods with Will's mum." At these words, both Will and I shoot our heaps up. We share a terrified glance.

"M-my mum?" Will asks confused and scared.

"What are they doing?" Max speaks quickly.

"Ill-inois. They're going to Illinois" El whispers, confused and frustrated.

Mike's mum yells some thing about dinner and he yells back.

"Illinois. Illinois, like the state? The state of Illinois?" Mike spits out quickly. I swear he thinks he's so smart when he does that. Max glares at him for a second.

"Illinois." El whispers and shrugs.

Everyone shares worried glaces with each other before going into full panic mode.
