Finally!! I am sure many were eagerly waiting for the update.

Ignore the errors.

Enjoy!!

The days leading to the ball, Harry was a busy young man. He spent as much time as possible with Luna, when she wasn't in class, to get to know her better and also helped her in her homework if she needed it. He took private lessons from Severus for potions and was proving to rather good at brewing if there was no one to distract him. Severus would skin him alive if anyone got to know about the lessons. He also met Sirius for his lessons. In between all the lessons and spending time with Luna, he also spent reading and learning History. He was enjoying being busy and not being disturbed by people.

It was probably thanks to the twins that the Gryffindors were keeping away, and also McGonagall. But he was also actively avoiding his former house mates and had no intention to talk to anyone until they were ready to apologize.

Luna and Harry spent most of their together laying down by the lake and enjoying the last and the little of sun and warmth they would see in a while. They talked about everything and nothing, sometimes just staying in each other's presence for some peace or they would both get a book to read out there.

Only the people attending the ball were staying and Luna was one of the few third years, as she was invited as a partner. Everyone was quite busy getting their dresses and everything ready for the Ball.

It was the day before the ball, Luna had gotten her dress and everything that would go with the dress and already told Harry which colour tie to wear. Today, Luna was leaning on the tree at the shore, reading a reference Runes text that was recommended and Harry was sleeping with his head on her legs, his eyes closed, a small smile on his lips and enjoying the feel of Luna running her hands through his messy hair.

"How could you do this Harry?" He heard a voice shout above him. He opened his eyes to be greeted by a red head, his ex-best friend.

"What do you mean Ronald?" He asked calmly.

"How could you ask Loony over there to the ball when my sister was so eagerly waiting for you to ask her? She is so heart broken."

"First, never call Luna as Loony or you will regret it. Second, I have never liked nor will ever like your sister like that. I don't even know her or like her to ask her to a ball."

"I thought so Potter, it seems you are showing your true colors. You are nothing but arrogant and feel like you are the center of universe."

"Whatever you want to think Ronald. I can't change that. I thought you knew me as we were friends for the last three years but I seem to be mistaken. You never knew me. Leave Ron."

"You- How could you say that? We are still friends. You just have to apologize then everything will go back to how it was. You, me and Hermione." Harry got up from Luna's lap finally and looked the boy in front of him as if he had officially gone mad.

"What do I have to apologize for?" He asked incredulously.

"You should first drop this Loony here, then you have to apologize as you didn't talk to me since the first task when I talked to you, then you apologize to my sister as you hurt her feelings." And the sad thing was that Ron believed every word he spoke. He thought and believed that Harry was the wrong one here and not him.

"You really don't know me, do you?" He asked mirthlessly, with a blank tone. The first friend he made, his best friend didn't know him at all. It broke something inside him.

"Come, Luna, I think we had enough of him and his nonsense." He said and gave a hand to Luna as he got up.

"Don't talk to me Ronald, I don't think we could be friends again. It's over. If I see you anywhere near Luna, I won't tolerate it." He and Luna held hands and walked away, leaving a gaping Ronald Weasley staring long after they entered the castle.
