~Chapter 2~

When I pulled up to Ruth's house the music was blaring and there were a lot of people there. Luckily she lived in one of the richer parts in Chicago and has a pretty big house with a woodsy area around it so there aren't any neighbors within hearing range that can complain and call the cops to shut down the party. When I went inside the house she was in the kitchen with this guy and she was wearing a really really short jean mini skirt and a strapless hot pink tight crop top. When she saw me she smiled at me, but it looked more like an evil smile than a genuine one. I started to feel a little uneasy so I went into the living room where the music was coming from. It was pretty big, the walls were a light brown color and the couches were a darker shade of brown.

"Hey you wanna dance?" a brown-haired boy asked me as he tapped my shoulder.

"Um, no thanks!" I answered him as he tried to take my hand.

"C'mon! It will be fun come!" H grabbed my hand and took me to the dance floor and started to grind on me right away. I started to feel really uncomfortable so I pretended to be thirsty so I could leave him be. I didn't like it here. The atmosphere just was not one I wanted to be around. I don't think I was quite ready to go to parties just yet. I decided to just go back home and watch some Netflix or something, but just as I was about to open the door to leave Ruth came up from behind me.

"Where are you going?" she asked me, a little frantic.

"Home. I don't feel too well " I lied with a forced smile and went to open the door, only for her to press her hand against it so it wouldn't budge.

"Oh, well can you stay just for a little while longer, please? We haven't even been able to talk yet!" she asked in a whiny voice a 5-year-old would use for a toy.

"You seemed rather busy and that's fine, we can grab a coffee or something to talk another time" I tried to reason. Her grip on the door did not loosen.

"H, just stay. I am begging, I really want you here and I feel like you are never going to talk to me again if you leave. You always used to say second chances are given to everyone who asks, and I am asking. Please stay" Ruth said sounding desperate. She was right, I did always say that. It was what my mother always used to tell me. With that, I sighed.

"Alright, I'll stay a little while longer" I replied in defeat.

She cheered and walked back to the kitchen. I started to slowly make my way back to the living room but while I was going there, I felt that now very familiar feeling in my stomach that told me I had to leave before something bad happened. I ignored it believing it to be simple paranoia.

After a while, I got bored of just sitting there doing nothing so I decided to take a tour of the house on my own since I hadn't been here in ages and have kind of forgot how it looked like. I went upstairs into the long hallway. The first door I saw was on my left so I opened it. I think it was the guest bedroom because it looks like no one had been there for a long time and I know Ruth was an only child. I kept on walking down the hallway and opened this other door to my right and instantly regretted it. There was a couple making out on the bed and it was getting pretty heated considering their clothes were pretty much all off. They didn't even notice I was there. They were on top of each other and I thanked GOD that the guy's bare back was facing me or else I would have seen things that I really did not wish to see. I quickly shut the door with my eyes shut and made my way to another door that was quite big, I already knew this was Ruth's room. I opened the door carefully to make sure I wasn't intruding on anything this time. When I looked in, it all looked about the same. It still said RUTH in black letters on the wall. Her room was so red and black and dark. It kind of creeped me out. I went in and took off my jacket as it was a little hotter in there and made my way over to her nightstand where something caught my attention. It was a picture of the two of us in ninth grade at the pier we always went to. I placed the picture back down and picked up my jacket as I left. I was about to open the last door, which was her parent's room, but just as I was about to open it Ruth came up the stairs and was right behind me.

"What are you doing?" she asked so casually and politely, it was an odd tone.

"Oh just looking around, I haven't been here in a while," I replied.

"Well, my parent's room is off limits." she said

"Oh ok. Sorry" I said back and she started to lead me back down stairs.

Ruth's POV

That bitch was about to ruin everything. I have hated Heather ever since the day she spoke down to me and called me a bit all out of her own jealousy. I have been planing this plan of vengeance for almost 3 years now and I finally get to put it into motion. I quickly went upstairs and was careful not to be seen by her. She was just about to open the door to my parents room when I stopped her. She continued with her act of being all nice, sweet, and innocent. I just couldn't wait until she got what was coming to her. As I was leading her back down the stairs I put my most expensive blue diamond necklace in her jacket pocket without her noticing.

"Well I better go" she said.

"Oh okay have a safe drive home, I'll take you up on having that coffee and chat instead!" I said with an evil smile no longer caring about trying it hide it.

When she left, I was so excited for my plan to start. That bitch was going to pay for yelling at me and for everything else she said to me.
