Chapter Eight

The half demon

Naga ran as fast as she could not looking back, from the loud hiss coming from behind, she knew she had no time to delay she increased her speed but luck wasn't on her side and before she could enter the forest the tail of Snake pile hit her down and she landed with a thud,she sprained her right ankle while landing. She stood up wincing in pain and limped away from the second attack, why did the jewel even choose her, she had no power at all she was no match for the demon which wanted to get rid of her. Snake pile used his tail to clear half of the trees where Naga had ducked from the attack. "GIVE ME THE JEWEL", Snake pile said his voice echoing through out the forest. " There is no way am giving you my ticket back home",Naga said coming out from her hiding brandishing a stick she picked from the floor. "Somebody, anybody please helppppppppp!".

A pair of golden eyes snapped open. He looked like he had been in a deep sleep for years,he was bond to a tree by an enchanted arrow and rope for may years by a priestess and had been asleep but he heard a call a distressed call that woke him up,suprisely the arrow and rope vanished, this have never happened before he was after all in the forest of the moon goddess whose power is indestructable   even though she vanished a long time ago. It was rumoured that she to find the human she had fallen in love with sacrificed her goddess power for the power of a village priestess but still her power over the Selene forest even after years of lying empty still thrives. But this night something was wrong a greater power seems to have awaken and that was the power that woke him up. He jumped down from the tree and dashed to the voice that was calling out to him, though he does not know why but he wanted to so much save the voice.

" Naga", Toshiro called from her horse back, she have just gotten there to see the little girl bravely facing Snake pile. She ordered the warriors with her to tie Snake pile. The warriors threw their ropes on Snake pile holding him from all angles, the demon struggled and roared then tore the rope with a force then used his tail to sweep out the warriors then charged at Naga.

The mark of Claws appeared on Snake pile and he shifted to see the intruder. Naga too opened her eyes to see why she wasn't attacked and she saw a white haired boy of about her age, she looked at Toshiro to know what was going on, but her eyes met a different Toshiro. Toshiro's eyes were wide with shock and disbelieve . Naga turned back to the boy and asked the only question in her mind "Who are you". The boy who heard a voice that sounded like the one that called out for him,searched to see where the voice was coming from and was shocked by his discovery , staring back at him were the eyes that  had hunted him his whole life " Karuo  ", he  whispered he was lost for the time being staring at Naga  with a burning  look of despair and anger. Naga asked another question when the first was ignored " Did you come to save me ",her face were filled with hope as she said that and Fay wanted to so much tear her apart but his heart wouldn't let him he seem to be routed at the spot. The attack from snake pile brought him out from his reverie. He attacked Snake pile with venom he had unfinished business with this woman so she was his to deal with. Snake pile formed a ball and rolled towards Fay who stood waiting for him, Fay  jumped up and clawed at him the muttering words under his breath he tore snake pile to shreds with no mercy. Naga who saw this fell to ground filled with relief. Fay looked at Naga with a confused expression,this was not the same  woman who betrayed him she looked different, the Karuo he knew would never let a demon lay a hand on her and she wouldn't crumble like this on the floor, but then the same Karuo he knew was a master in manipulating she would pretend to be weak while she was actually strong and he had been caught by that same act, but that won't work on him ever again. With his mind solely made up to pay the pretentious lady back in her own coin, he started walking up to Naga. Naga who saw him approaching thought he was coming to help her up rushed to him and hugged him. Fay who never expected such from the lady he had know half of his life was still recovering from the first shock when he received another shock "thank you for saving me, I was so scared back then, I thought I would die", Naga said and tears escaped from her eyes and soaked Fay's shirt. Fay who felt liquids on his shirt withdrew from the hug to see Naga in tears, he never wanted to meet her like  this, he never knew she would become so weak, he stared at Naga with utter disbelief 'is she just acting',he thought. Fay who wasn't disturbed by Naga's tears talked to her rudely which made the girl's tears to  seize " you can stop the act now Karuo ", Fay said his voice icy. 'Karuo,who is that ',Naga thought. Toshiro who had been watching the unfolding drama from afar walked up to them. " So it is really you Fay",she said. Fay turned to look at the woman who just called him, but how could he recognize her it have been years. 'Why does he have to call Karuo who died a long time ago now something fishy is going on',Toshiro thought. "Fay Karuo is gone along with the jewel", Toshiro said, but she was sure the young man wasn't listening, he was sending deadly glares to Naga and Toshiro knew what those glares means, so she did what came to her mind, since Fay called Naga Karuo she should trap him so he wouldn't hurt her. She moved closer to Naga who was still lost by the name and whispered to her, Naga's eyes grew, she can't do that, Toshiro whispered another thing to her ear. Naga hesitated for a few more minutes contemplating whether to do it or not, but when she saw Fay advancing to her with claws, she rushed to him and crushed her mouth on his.
