There was really no point anymore; no real reason to be here. Everyone was gone and by gone I mean they have died, never coming back. She was just left here all alone, no family, no friends, absolutely nothing.
Six weeks ago her whole family was murdered in a house robbery. Four weeks ago, all three of her best friends since first grade were killed in a head-on car accident. Just last week, she received a call saying, her boyfriend of four years, was in a plane crash. Everyone gone in just over a month.
Certainly this was something no 17 year old girl should be going through alone but she had no one to help her. Anyone who was ever close to her had died. She was quickly losing her mind, I mean, she was completely alone and constantly reminded of everything she lost. She just wanted to die.
She was emitted into an insane asylum by her neighbor she barely knew, probably because he was tired of the constant screaming and shouting and sounds of shattering glass coming from next door.
She hated the asylum with a passion. All she wanted to do was die and have her awful life end already but she couldn’t kill herself when she was under the surveillance of staff 24/7. They wanted to make sure she didn’t try to pull anything and make an early exit from the facility so they always had a pair of eyes on her.
She never made friends at the asylum because if anyone tried to talk to her she would just start screaming and crying telling them that they were at fault of her close ones’ passings. She was ultimately considered ‘that weird girl who sits in the corner muttering to herself’. Even in an insane asylum she was thought of as weird and messed up.
Just like she didn’t talk to any of the other patients, she never talked to any of the nurses. She didn’t even talk to her given therapist. Aside from the screaming, shouting, and muttering, she was pretty much mute.
She had to be put into a special room, held down, and force fed her pills and other medications because she always refused to take them when told, why would she want to get better when she could just die and end this torture.
As much as she hated the asylum, she hated one specific day the most; visiting day. Why would she like a day dedicated to reconnecting with family and friends when she had none. She would just sit in the corner and look at the other happy families, even if one was in an insane asylum, they still seemed happy and complete, unlike her broken and tragic life.
One visiting day she was sitting in the corner as usual when she noticed the open window on the other side of the room. So many thoughts ran through her mind at once, thinking of the amazing results of just one action. She looked around the room and notice that for once, there was no one watching her.
With everything running through her mind she slowly stood up trying not to draw any attention to herself, and she ran. She ran toward the window as fast as she could and just before anyone could get to her, she jumped from the fourteenth floor of the insane asylum.
Falling fast, she hit the cement below, shattering almost every bone in her body, dying instantly. Lying there in her own puddle of blood, finally happy, and left there for people to watch in horror as she was finally free.
