You were in the lair, relaxing Donnie's room while reading one of your favorite books.

It was getting really good till the really sad part hit you. You felt your heart drop as you read on. The boy of course had sacrificed himself for the love of his life.

The bullet had entered his chest as he had pulled the girl back so he would be the one to get killed. The tears began to form in your eyes as you forced yourself to read on.

All while reading you couldn't help but think about Donnie. What if we were in the same situation and the Footclan came to attack?!

Now all you could think about was Donnie getting hurt or killed because he wanted to protect you. Or that one day you would wake and get the news that Donnie was killed while fighting with some Footclan soldiers
You felt knots grow in your stomach as you put the book down and sit on his bed. Your cheeks flushed while the  tears streamed down your cheeks.

"Hey (Y/n), wanna check out this thing I made?" Donnie asked which made you jump a little from his sudden appearance which gave you no time to collect yourself and wipe the tears away.

"Oh hey Donnie! I'd love too!" You quickly babbled out as you played a sweet smile but your boyfriend saw right through you. "What's going on? You were crying." Donnie said as you felt your lower lip tremble.

He walked over to you and knelt down in front of you just as you dropped your gaze on the ground. Donnie gently brought a hand to your cheek and you instantly fall into his touch.

"I'm fine." You choked out as he sighed, dropping his gaze ever so slight before looking at you again. "No you're not. Just tell me, you can trust me okay?" Donnie said as you burst into tears before crashing into him.

"I don't want to lose you!" You choked out as you cried. Donnie wrapped his arms around you when you had crashed into him but froze when you mentioned 'lose'.

"Lose me?" Donnie repeated as you continued to cry. "My love please look at me." Donnie said as you slowly pulled away from him so you could face him.

Donnie smiled softly as he gently cupped your cheek in his hand. "You will never lose me. I'll always be here with you." Donnie insured as you sniffled.

"Don't make promises that you can't keep." You mumbled out as Donnie frowned. "I'm willing to keep that promise (Y/n), I'd do anything for you, keep you safe. Protect you always." Donnie informed as you sniffled, the tears still rolling down your cheeks.

"That's the problem! I don't want you to protect me!" You cried out as Donnie's eyes grew wide. "I don't w-want you to die or getting b-because of m-me!" You added on as you burst into sobs again.

"(Y/n)...." Donnie said as you continued to cry. "How am I supposed to live with myself if you died." You said in between sobs as he pulled you in his arms again.

"And how would I live with myself if you died or got hurt cause I wasn't there to keep you safe?" Donnie asked as you sniffled. "Its not just that Don, all these missions...it just scares me that one day you won't come back to me..." You whimpered out as he pressed a soft kiss on your forehead.

"I know...but it's the risk I'm willing to take for you and for the city. For my brothers." Donnie exclaimed as you forced yourself to nod.

"I'm sorry..." you mumbled out as Donnie tilted you chin up so your eyes were leveled with his. "For what my love?"

"For overreacting...and crying over something like this."

"You don't have to apologize (Y/n), I understand where your coming from. I have my doubts and fears too but I choose to not let it over come me." Donnie said as you forced a smile and looked up at him.

"I love you so much." You choked out as Donnie smiled, rested a hand on your cheek and wiped away a fresh tear as he kissed your cheek.

"I love you too. Always have and will." Donnie said before you cupped his face with your hands as you pressed your lips against his. He instantly kissed you back, pulling you right against him and onto his lap as you both kiss.

Once you both managed to pull away from each other you were both breathless. He laughed softly as you smiled happily as he then kissed your cheek and soft peppered kisses on your neck and shoulder.

"How about I show you my new thing I made. It's still in the works but I think you'll like it." Donnie said as you laughed, drying your tear stained cheeks.

"Lead the way babe." You replied as he helped you up from the ground. With your hand still in his, he lead you to his lab where he'd show you his new invention.
