It wasn't long until Ethan, John, and Alex reached their second class of the day. They weren't very happy about this subject, especially since all three of the boys (more like everyone in their group), was not especially good at this subject, the one hated by every student at school (with one minor exception). MATH.
It would be easy to say that the boys were going to pass the class with flying colors this year... buuut, their lack of motivation will surely take a tole on them in no time.
Like in biology, the boys sat at an empty table together. But the teacher on the other hand, decided it would be best to organize the students into assigned seats.
Ethan, being the new kid to the school, didn't think much about it since he didn't really know anyone anyways. John and Alex though, they were a tight knit bond that the teacher was going to have a hard time separating, and he knew it.
"John, Y/N, Ethan, and ... *sigh* Alex" the teacher called out. " You four will be seated in a group at that table over there" he said pointing to a large table with four seats near the window in the back of the class. "And I will not hesitate to get you boys a schedule change so there will be no interaction whatsoever" the teacher threatened directing his attention to the two bonded boys. "Yes sir!" the two said boys chirped out before sitting in their designated seats.
All the while this was happening, Y/N decided it would be best to sit in between the boys so that the teacher could just teach instead of bicker with the students most of the year.
Doing this the teacher noticed and decided to speak up, "thank you Y/N, it seems someone here realizes how to make do with situations and just let me teach for once!" Most of the class sat there unfazed, as it has become the usual for the said girl to become the teachers pet and was all too used to being the 'quiet' kid who was seated by the loud ones.
It wasn't long after that class started and everyone was off to work on some advanced equation that troubled many of the students. It was at that moment that a struggling Ethan decided to ask his newfound friends for help on the problem. "Hey, do you know what comes after this part-" Ethan says while pointing to the work he has done so far to complete the problem.
Both Alex and John then looked at each other from behind the girl between them before looking back towards Ethan. "No, sorry, I only have up to where you are (which isn't very far at all)", " yeah, I only have up to there also, sorry man" John continued with his answer.
Y/N, being seated right in the middle of the talking boys, couldn't help but overhear what they were saying. After figuring out they didn't understand the problem, she looked back at her paper to realize she had been finished with (what she thought to be) the simple equation.
With a slight clearing of her throat to draw attention to her, Y/N spoke her first words so far this new school year. "Um... did you say you guys needed help on the equation?" The girl timidly asked while the boys (who didn't include Ethan) stared at her in a mix of shock and what some other emotion she couldn't put her finger on.
"Y-yes, do you know how to solve it, could you help us!?!!?" John exclaimed while looking between the other boys at the table who were giving him a look that said 'dude, you need to calm down'. While thinking about this, the other males couldn't help but feel a similar way about/around the girl.
"Uh-uhm, yeah, I finished it a while ago, I could help you out with it. Do... all of you need help on in?" Y/N asked in a meek and nervous tone. She was never much of a talker, but she wasn't mute or anything, she just lacked interest in social settings, and general conversation. This meant she often got nervous when she as confronted or just talked to all together!
In return to her question, the boys at her table happily nodded up and down to give her a sign to start explaining to them what is a actually going on in this problem.
After explaining the whole entire problem to them, and then some, she finally glanced up at them to symbolize she was done explaining. Though, when she looked up she didn't expect such a strong reaction to (what she thought to be) a measly math problem,
The boys just sat there with their mother agape at the level of detail and accuracy she explained the problem to them in. At that moment they realized that you, Y/N L/N, were a better teacher than their own, and could probably (okay, more like easily) rival a professional mathematician.
Alex was one the first to speak up, "t-t-thank you! You explained the whole thing so well, how did you even do that so fast while still being able to teach us all those concepts at the same time!?!!?" Y/N didn't know how to respond, at all. So, she did what any others person with anxiety would do, start stuttering random responses, all while becoming a blushing and terrified mess. "U-uh...w—what? It was n-nothing really! I just uh-uhm really uh like math, and mmm spend a lot of time s-studying!" she managed to squeak out to her table members before she wasn't physically or mentally able to talk anymore.
Lucky for our anxious little reader, her time with the boys was cut off by none other than the blaring sound of the passing bell. She quickly packed up her things and raced out the door, not before hearing a chorus of "thank you"'s from her table mates on her way out.
She dashed through the school halls to get to her next class so that she could sit down and compose herself.
All while Y/N was doing this, Rye, Ash, and Ethan were on their way to their next class. This class however, may or may not be the same one a certain somebody has...
A/N:
Hello guys! As you can tell I finished yet another chapter today!!! I hoped you enjoyed and were glad to get a bit more time reading about... well, yourselves!
I also feel really dumb now, and I'm sorry! I c o m p l e t e l y forgot to describe Ethans appearance and add a picture of him at that!
I am going to work that into the next chapter and will probably go back to my 'Meet da boiz' chapter to add a photo! If you have any suggestions for his appearance, feel free to comment. I feel like he also needs to look different, but obviously still attractive.
Have a good one,!-Ash-Chan ❤️🌸🐻
