"Sehun, where exactly are you taking me?" Jisoo asked, totally bored at how Sehun wasn't uttering a single word and just walking next to her.
"I think we're there," Sehun said looking everywhere but at her, and they were near the staircases that led downstairs to the practice room, where he believed they would find Kai. He took a glance at Jisoo who looked confused and a small smile played on his lips.
"I think we'll find him downstairs," Sehun started climbing down the stairs, his long legs enabling him to take two steps at a time while Jisoo was struggling to keep up with him.
"Yah!" Jisoo exclaimed when someone carelessly pushed her on the staircases, causing her to miss some steps and land on her butt as she tightly held on to the metal railings.
"Jisoo," Sehun stopped on his way when he saw no one was following him and turned around to find the said girl sitting on one if the steps and clutching onto her toe with an unpleasant expression. His eyes widened as he ran back to her, "Let me see."
Jisoo loosened the grip on her foot with the help of Sehun, "Is it hurting a lot? Would you be able to walk to the infirmary?" He asked with his worried eyes staring right into her not-so-sure ones.
The bruise on her left toe that formed by the contact of the sharp edges of the stairs was very prominent on her milky white skin. Sehun only had himself to set the blame on because he was the one who proposed the idea and now that Jisoo got injured, he had no wish to continue with his plan.
"Get on my back. I'll take you to the infirmary," He stated with one of his serious looks, standing up from his crouched position.
"I think I'd be able to walk," Jisoo looked up at him, refusing his suggestion.
"Try standing up first." Sehun offered her his hand which she took without much thought and exerting a little pressure on the steps with her right leg she pushed herself up. She clutched onto his shoulder with a yelp when she felt like she'd fall down over again. Sehun was afraid that she'd probably hear his loud heart beats since she was standing this close. His arm instinctively went around her waist to make sure she doesn't slip past the remaining stairs, while she hissed in pain with every step they took. "I should've carried you," Sehun murmured seeing her in pain, hoping she regretted her decision of getting downstairs by herself. "The offer's still open," he reminded her.
Jisoo sighed as she gave in and Sehun softly smiled at that. He guided her hand that previously was holding his towards the railing and asked her to hold onto that for awhile. He crouched down in front of her and she silently climbed on top of him. He adjusted her on his back and flinched a little when her face brushed against the skin of his neck. Sehun didn't know if he was supposed to be glad because just this morning he had a pretty long conversation with her and now she was this close to him with his heart dancing in his chest or was he supposed to be dejected because Jisoo fell down and injured herself.
Jisoo rested her head on his shoulder, her hands wound tighter around him as she took in his scent. "What about Kai?"
"Let's forget about him today. We need to treat that first." Sehun said, sporting his monotone expression so that she wouldn't be able to catch a glimpse of what was going on inside his head.
She leaned over his shoulder slightly to take a look at his profile, taking in the way his soft brown hair fell onto his eyes and the black frame that rested on the bridge of his nose, and the way he would occasionally lick his lips. Sehun was taking long strides towards the infirmary that was just beside the practice room and just like he thought, Jisoo was as light as feather for him.
"Thank you, Sehun," Jisoo mumbled when he dropped her on one of the beds in the infirmary.
"That wasn't a problem and the fault is mine anyway," He popped his head through the curtain surrounding the bed to look for the lady who was assigned to treat injured people in the school and frowned when he didn't find her. "Wait here, I'll bring the bandages."
"What about Ms. Song?" Jisoo asked.
"She's not here. I'll do that myself," He mumbled before going out to fetch the first aid kit.
Jisoo sat there by all by herself as she observed her surrounding as she heard Sehun rummaging through the drawers to find the first aid box. She sat up in surprise when she heard some smooching noises from the bed right beside hers and she was quite sure Sehun wasn't making any type of sound like this. Her eyebrows shot upwards when she heard 'Kai' and her curiosity made her grab the curtain nearby and pull it to one side. The other bed had its curtains surrounding it and Jisoo was having difficulty to reach it with her injured feet; she huffed in annoyance when she wasn't being able to stand and walk towards the bed neither was she being able to reach the curtains.
She was certain that she heard a moan from that side and her heart ached to just remove those curtains and see what the hell was happening behind those and why the hell was she hearing 'Kai' all the while.
"What's wrong?"
She pulled the curtains back when she heard Sehun and turned to him. "N-nothing."
The murmurs, however, didn't go unnoticed by Sehun, "I thought we were the only ones in here." He arched his brows and tilted his head to listen when he realized there were two more people in the infirmary but brushed it off when the sounds stopped.
"What's wrong with you?"
They heard a feminine voice from the other side and Sehun could bet that wasn't Ms. Song but some other girl. They heard the infirmary door slam shut before their curtain was pulled aside, much to their astonishment. The girl, Sehun remembered was a year older than him and her name probably was Kang Seulgi. Chanyeol couldn't stop talking about her last week and that's how Sehun remembered her name.
"Are you Kai's new girl?" She asked with a smirk while folding her arms and eyeing her with a judging look.
"And who are you?" Sehun asked in return when he saw how Jisoo was staring at her cluelessly.
"Trust me, you don't wanna know," she replied with a dry chuckle. She fixed her gaze back at Jisoo, "Are you Kim Jisoo?"
Jisoo nodded and Seulgi scoffed, "You're not even that pretty."
Sehun wanted to land a punch on her face or just lend her his glasses so that she could see better before commenting on Jisoo.
"You look so weak. Just do not cry once Kai breaks up with you. He's not serious with these anyways." With that the girl pulled the curtains back to where it was and walked out of the room.
Jisoo looked hell confused when she looked at Sehun, who looked like he was starting to grasp onto the words the girl just said. "Do you know her?"
"Chanyeol does talk about her a lot," Sehun replied before sitting down on the bed across her and starting to cure the cut that was made. He gently dabbed the antiseptic on it and wrapped the bandaged precisely with all of his attention. Jisoo watched him the whole time, taking care of her when it really should be Kai in his place. She tried processing what the girl previously meant. She was Kai's new girl. That was bothering her the most but she found comfort in just plainly staring at Sehun. He didn't carry the aura that Kai did. He wasn't aggressive, nor was he demanding.
"I'm really sorry about this. I shouldn't have ran down the stairs." Sehun sported an apologetic look as he finished wrapping up the first aid kit and putting it on one of the sides of the bed.
"It's okay, really. What did you want to show me anyway?" Jisoo asked with an inquisitive look.
"Umm, some other day. You didn't even have lunch today. Stay here, I'll bring something for you." Sehun swiftly walked out of the room, leaving Jisoo alone. She stared at the entrance for a long time; somewhere in the back of her mind, she had started questioning her decisions. She was confused; she really didn't know Kai, she realized. She wondered if what her people told her turned out to be true. If he really was the one for her or not.
