Chapter 5: Neon and Kira's Investigation

It was the same dream again the darkness that haunted me. This time it was different the darkness started to fade away. My whole world turns into a burst of flames, everything was burning. I felt everything was burning, I felt the chaos all around I was hearing the cries. It was like I couldn't do anything to help them. I started running toward the sound of cries.

"You did this to us!"

"You could have saved us!"

"You lied!"

"You've betrayed your own people!"

I felt my knees cave under me. I don't know what I did that was so wrong. Did I do something bad? Then I heard that voice.

"Don't believe them Neon. All they have ever done to you lie. They wanted to use you."

"Neon doesn't believe them they are only trying to hurt you."

I didn't know what to believe anymore. I don't know what to do I could their cries and screams I could see their faces. I want to help them and I can't it was like I was being dragged away from the world. I closed my eyes and held my head hoping all of this would be over soon. This dream has won't ever stop. I felt like I was falling or even floating. I open my eyes to see blue everywhere. It was so beautiful but something didn't feel right. Then I realized I was underwater. It was so quiet here, then I felt something grab me pulling me deeper in. The beautiful blue that was the ocean was fading away. I was being pulled deep into the ocean. There was this pain in my chest that was becoming more of a reality. My world was becoming darker. I was trying to resist the darkness that was pulling me deeper. I was trying to swim away from it, my world was starting to become bluer. I was finally getting away from the darkness. I finally reached the surface. Everything was still burning, I had to get to shore. When I got out of the water was drenched. I felt hands around my neck.

"You are a curse to the world." Someone was trying to kill me. I felt all the air escape from my lungs.

"If no one dispose of you than I will. You are a sin." I put my hands around the mystery person's wrist. I felt the pressure rise to my head. I felt like my entire body was going to give out, at that same moment I heard a familiar voice.

"Neon!" It was Kira, then my hands let go of the mystery person.

"Wake up! It's just a dream! You're safe I promise."

I opened my eyes and I sat up. I wasn't fully aware of my surroundings or wake for the matter. I still felt whoever that person's hands around my neck. I look over at the mirror I saw blue, purplish marks on my neck. This was the first time my dreams actually cause my somewhat of pain. I turn toward Kira, I felt the soreness in my neck.

"Neon, your neck." I could see the worry in Kira's eyes.

"I know. I don't know my dreams have never done anything like that before." I decided to get out of bed. "Did Himeko ever come home?" I was trying to change the subject.

"No. Hey! Don't change the subject. We need to talk about this." I turned around to face Kira.

"Of course, what is there to talk about it. I'll figure out what happened with my neck and I will fix it. After all, it is my problem, not yours." I walked to the closet to see if I could find anything that could fit me, or at least something to cover my neck up from the bruises.

"It's my problem because I care about you Neon. Look, I know things have been crazy lately I was thinking that no one has told us the truth. So I was thinking we do some investigating ourselves." I knew Kira just cared and worried, it wasn't like anyone was going to tell me about the bruise on my neck.
