2. A New World?

Some time ago.

I don't have it in me anymore... I just can't... I want to cease to feel. To feel pain... Even happiness.. I want to feel nothing. Because we all know that happiness without that sorrow has no value. So I took down another handful of painkillers with a lukewarm glass of water.

Now that she is gone. My wonderful Mother. What am I to do? She was my rock and my solitude. My drive to do better, to be better. And Andrew? Well let's just say he was to much of a coward to say it to my face.

What do you do when your whole world comes tumbling down... Do you just end it? Take it into stride? Or pack up and leave... Funny enough I don't want to die... And I can't take anymore heartache. I suppose packing up and leaving is the best option.

But I can't move to another country, or even another continent. They'll find me. Oh Andrew! I-I trusted you and you betrayed me. They'll never believe me with all that evidence you plotted against me with.

I'm as good as dead.

I'm at loss of ideas. So I reread your text for the millionth time. Somehow I just cant believe my best friend would do this to me.

Now I must do what I have to do. I slowly bring Experiment BT6789 out of it's containment unit and gently put it into my duffle bag.

Legally I'm still an employee of the research center.They haven't picked up on my possible arrest. Lucky me, huh.

And I exit the room trying to look as normal as possible.

"Hey Casey, what are you doing with that?" Alisha asks with a tinge of suspicion. "Oh Hey l..I need to run some tests to see how it interacts with strong magnetic and electric fields. So I'm taking it up to the chamber." Somehow she believes me.

But I don't intend to do any tests. As I walk down the hall, I notice a group of men wearing FBI branded uniform and unfortunately they notice me as well.

"Hey!" One yelled. And the chase was on. I ran down the hall. And went into the elevator. It felt a bit impractical. You know? How I was supposed to be running for dear life, as compared to the slow ride to the basement. Complete with a painfully soothing melody.

I got there before they did. And opened the portal.

"Casey Sutherland. You're under arrest for the attempted murder of John Lawrence. And the leakage of classified information.

All that shocked me. Andrew didn't hold back now did he? All that could get me life in prison.

I jump through. I don't even look back. They can find me anywhere in the world but let's see how they fare on whole different planet.
