Stranger said, "It will help you wake up more easily, and sleep more easily. It'll make you alert when you're awake. And relaxed when you're asleep".

Autumn Faith looked at the pill, and at Stranger, then said, "Why?"

She felt like she was trapped in a nightmare.

"It will make your nightmares ease away. And help you to better dreams", said Stranger reassuringly, yet almost as though he had read her mind. "Here you go, Autumn" he said, as he passed the pill to her. "Put it in your mouth, and swallow with some water", he smiled, nodding.

Autumn took the pill as instructed.

Moments later, Autumn wondered whether the alertness she felt was due to the medicine, or the fact that everything was so alien to her, thus enabling her to take in more of what she perceived with her senses.

Autumn wandered around the building noticing what the other girls where doing.

One was sitting down on a comfortable seat, staring at a flat rectangular object, that appeared to be a window to another world, or more accurately to many other worlds, perhaps.

Another girl was talking very rapidly, asking questions and answering them herself, whilst seeming very involved in doing so.

There was that woman from earlier, standing in the open doorway, putting a strange little stick-like-thing on fire on its tip, then putting the other end in her mouth and breathing the fumes!
