LAST CHAPTER!

Chapter 44

Six Months Later...

|Nicole " NiNi " Thomas|

Today was my big day and I couldn't be more nervous. My palm were sweaty, it felt like the room was closing in on me, I was having cold feet.

"I'm having cold feet." I mumbled to no one in particular.

"Well you better have hot feet or I'mma take my belt off." I hear Rony said from behind me. I giggled.

"Rony how did you get in here?" I asked.

"I run this." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"Roll 'em again and watch how fast my belt come off." He said. I bust out laughing.

"Rony leave her alone and get out. It's time." Lonnie said.

"Nigga you get out." He said. I shook my head at the two of them.

"Are you ready?" Alyana asked me. I smiled at her.

"I'm so nervous." I admitted.

"It's okay to be nervous. I can't really say I was nervous at my wedding 'cause I didn't even know I was getting married." She said.

"How you didn't know?"

"I was blindfolded and they did everything. I just had to show up. It was a surprise wedding." She said.

"Oh wow." I said.

"My son loves you. This might be a big step, but you two are meant for each other. You gave us our first grandchild and you got my son's nose busted wide open. He'll do anything for you and London. Just think about all the good times you both have had together. Let your love for each other guide you." She said. I smiled thinking about Mikhail.

"Thank you." I said.

"It's my job. Now let's get you married." She said.

We made our way out of the room. I sighed deeply.

It was time.

"The ceremony of marriage in which you come to be united is one of the first and oldest ceremonies in the world. Marriage is the clasping of hands, the blending of two hearts and the union of two lives into one. Your marriage must stand, not by the authority of the State, nor by the seal on your wedding certificate but by the strength and power of the faith and love you have for one another." Pastor Dean started off. I promised myself I wasn't going to cry.

"We are gathered here today to witness the coming together of two people whose hearts and spirits are entwined as one. You are adding to your life not only the affection of each other, but also the companionship and blessing of a deep trust as well. You are agreeing to share strength, responsibilities and love." He continued. "Love is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humor. Love is having the capacity to forgive and forget. Love is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow. Love is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner." He said.

"Mikhail, son, repeat after me: I love you for what you are and what I am, when I am with you. You are my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad. Today I give you my hand, my heart and my love from this day forward."

Mikhail repeated after him.

"You may now place the ring on her finger." He placed the ring on my finger.
