"Good job son. Signing this treaty ensures lots of job for the men in this kingdom. I'm proud of you", my father patted my back as I signed the document in front of me.
"Thank you for helping me decide this was the right one to sign", I smiled up at my dad.
"Your welcome, I'm going to deliver this document to parliament now. I'll see you in time for dinner", my father rolled up the document and walked out of my study.
I had busied myself with another document when I heard a soft knock at my study door. My ears perked and I gave a quick 'come in', rubbing my tired eyes and waiting to see who would come through my door. A smile instantly took over my face when my beautiful wife entered my study with what looked like a tray.
"It's around mid-day, I figured you would want lunch", she said shaky as she entered the room even more juggling the tray in her hands.
I couldn't help the goofy grin to break out across my face as I stood up from my chair and head over to her and plucking the tray from her hands and leaning down pressing a kiss to her lips. Grabbing her hand I lead her back to my chair behind my desk, setting the tray down on my desk I pulled my wife into my lap as I ate my lunch with one hand.
"Thank you for bringing me my lunch baby girl", I kissed her once again.
"Your welcome", she smiled at me.
"How's our little jewel today", my hand traveled to rest on her slightly swollen baby bump.
"Their good, just a little hyper today", she huffed as I felt our baby kick.
"I'm excited to meet our baby in a few months", I smiled kissing her neck.
"Me too", she smiled back.
"Here, we got to keep our little jewel healthy", I gave her some spoonfuls of the food she brought me.
I couldn't believe how my world went completely upside down once this remarkable woman had entered my life. I would have never thought my life would become this, I always thought I'd be stuck in the state of perpetual state of partying and drinking. Here I was, married and with our first baby on the way. I would change it for the world though, this was us. Truly happily ever after.
